  Great surgery, but save your records. I received lasik at Tysons in 2001 at age 29, and for over 20 years my vision was better than 20/20. My procedure cost included lifetime adjustments if needed, but after many years and several moves I guess I assumed my perfect vision would last forever because I apparently did not save my paperwork. Then in 2022 something changed. Billboards and small fonts in PowerPoint slides became blurry. So I got glasses. For three years my prescription has not changed, so a few weeks ago I decided to go back to the Lasik Vision Institute for a correction, but they say they can't find me in their system (and won't do the correction for free). So my records probably got deleted during a software update. Learn from my mistake. Keep your lasik records/invoice forever!

  Unfortunately, I need to leave a poor review as a warning for future patients. I was pressured into having the Lasik surgery the same day as the consultation. I reluctantly agreed because they said they'd offer a discount if I did the surgery that same day. This was, unfortunately, one of the worst decisions of my life, as my eyesight has never been the same since. I got a scratch in my right eye from the surgery, and my eyesight has been very blurry and sensitive to light, with my eye often hurting and irritating. When I went back for follow-ups, they acknowledged the scratch, but dismissed me saying that nothing was wrong and to simply use eye drops. I tried to plead about my symptoms, but either they didn't care or nothing could be done. It has now been over 1.5 years since the surgery, and I'm writing this review (this is the first ever review I've ever written, but thought it's important to share my experience given that the reviews are mostly positive) to caution that getting lasik here can permanently damage your eyesight and quality of life, as it did for me. Put simply, while I'm only 25 years old, my eyesight has taken an enormous toll on my physical and mental well-being for the last 1.5 years, and I'd do anything to get my eyesight back and my symptoms gone, though it seems like nothing can be done even though I've gone to multiple eye doctors already.   All members of staff were super helpful, friendly, and informed. Exams were quick and effective. All doctors and assistants were very professional, kind, and helpful, answering all questions in depth prior to the operation as well as in follow up. Hoping to heal with nearly 20/15 vision after a swift and painless operation!

  I am so glad that I found the Lasik Vision Institute. I was able to have a consultation and the procedure completed the same day, and just 24 hours later I already feel like this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The surgeon, doctors, and staff have all been welcoming, patient, and have consistently demonstrated their vast knowledge of this field and the technology associated with it. I have felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. I don’t anticipate needing to come back here any time soon, but I can say that I’m already looking forward to it. If you’re researching Lasik, go ahead and stop here because you’ve found the best of the best.
