From Sweden, been at CFX twice.
Got a concussion in 2018, tried anything and everything. Knowledge in Sweden is very limited. In 2021 I was desperate for improvement, I googled ”Post concussion syndrome treatment” and CFX showed up. Reviews looked to good to be true, with almost religious statements saying things like ”miracle”. As a person of science, I don’t believe in miracles. But I had nothing to lose, so I went for it.
And it was great! And very much based on science. CFX know what they are doing. They have vast experience and have been able to refine their methods. The scan (fNCI) is such valuable validation, showing you on paper what isn’t working in your brain. No need to have to ”convince” anyone.
The treatment is very concrete and physical and simply works your body and brain in the right ways. But couldn’t you just do the same at home? Yes you could, if you knew what to work on, when to work on it and how to do it! It’s not obvious what to do, and it requires extensive knowledge about how the brain works and how different areas of the brain work together and are located, which they possess. And you will be doing it at home after treatment. Going to the clinic is like a very intense boot camp, which you continue at a lower intensity on your own at home.
It’s not cheap, but if you are able to save up - I think it’s the best investment you can do. I’m pretty sure it will give a good return on investment since you’ll likely be able to e.g. perform better at work or even do work you otherwise couldn’t, not to speak of all the other benefits in life of just doing better.
The reason I’ve gone twice is that I wasn’t able to get fully recovered on my own after the first visit. I was doing well enough and lost motivation to do the homework, so I lost progress. Since then life changed and increased in intensity (having children). I went back to get another boost and new motivation.
Just do it! And if you’re able, do the two weeks!
Staff was so professional, understanding, and kind. I finally felt validated after years of searching for answers. The therapies yielded amazing results and I am excited to continue with the plan I was sent home with. I truly just wish I had known about this sooner. I am so grateful for the team at Cognitive FX.

I wish I would have started here two years ago! All the therapists are in one location! I don’t have to drive all over the state for appointments and in the end I have spent at least as much money! Thank you! Thank you! I am so impressed with the thoroughness and comprehensive evaluations, assessments, and care. The staff members are are incredible, helpful, knowledgeable, and able to meet us where we are at while also challenging us as much as possible to help our brains heal! I have felt so much gratitude for being involved in this program and for the validation of the others in my group. I am not making this up! My symptoms are real! If you have had an injury, insult, accident causing a possible concussion/TBI…get yourself to Cognitive FX! It’s worth every penny and worth putting the rest of your life on hold so you can get your life back! Love you, CogFX!

Dr. Tervort and his team were absolutely incredible. There is nothing they could have done to be more accommodating of me. My experience there was wonderful, and it was the softness I needed at such a tumultuous time in my life. For my functional MRI, I got to meet Brian, who welcomed me with such kindness and recommended some places for us to check out while visiting from St. Louis. Evan, Serena, and Shayna were my technicians and did a really good job to make sure I was comfortable (and entertained)! I got to pick my own YouTube videos during the treatments, and they adjusted the machine as necessary to avoid twitching and pain. I have dietary restrictions, so they found a gluten-free and dairy-free restaurant nearby so I could eat a delicious lunch every day that I was there. Dr. Spangler, the psychologist, was really helpful in her approach. She is warm and professional. The sensory motor therapists including Ian (and another girl whose name I sadly can't remember) were great, and it was overall such a positive experience. Just being there helped my mood! I even got a view of the beautiful Utah mountains from my room at the clinic.
I wanted to recommend this place regardless of the outcome of my specific case, but I will say that I have seen benefit in the two months since treatment. The neuroplasticity from TMS can cause ups and downs, and in my case, it did. But between October 3rd (my last day of treatment at Cognitive FX) and December 3rd (the two month mark after which they say it's good to check in), I made measurable progress. I went 10 days without using Ativan, had two consecutive weeks (and counting) where I feel "back to normal," and cried tears of JOY two nights ago because for the first time in a long time, I could feel a flood of positive emotions again: a feeling of fullness, hope, and gratitude. I am no longer suicidal or having panic attacks. I also no longer feel like I need ECT. I feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. In addition to TMS treatment, I have also pursued other therapies I highly recommend if you're looking to boost the effects of TMS: neurofeedback, EMDR, vagus nerve stimulation, and many others. I'm encouraged by how differently I feel than I did two months ago. Best Thanksgiving/Christmas present ever!
My experience with CFX was incredible and the results have been life-changing. The staff were kind and attentive. The space was very comfortable and relaxing. The food and snacks provided were excellent. They pay attention to every detail to make the most of the experience. It was encouraging to meet other people participating in treatment. I learned that I am not alone in struggles with brain fog, depression, and being unable to work. Since treatment I have experienced a complete turnaround and am now able to work, think critically, communicate effectively, and have seen a reduction in anxiety. If you are on the fence about rTMS, I highly recommend CFX. You will not regret it!
