In 2019 they were unable to produce a viable pair of glasses for my extremely near sighted prescription. As a customer I tried to trust in their knowledge for two separate pairs of glasses, neither of which were even wearable due to the extreme weight and fish eyed experience from their lens choices. When we ultimately returned the second pair my wife was ridiculed by the staff who stated that there's no way Walmart or Shopko optical could get right what their lab couldn't. 4 years later I finally got over the anxiety about getting a new pair of glasses this experience gave me and got a great pair and prescription sunglasses too, both from Shopko optical. Do not trust their staff to guide you in purchasing the right lens and frames for your prescription, it's that simple. Update to reply: It's a shame your doctors didn't have anything to do with purchasing a set of frames and lenses as it sounds like their expertise could have been used. In my 30+ years of having and wearing glasses I never had an experience like this, not to mention being treated terribly when I had an issue.

I normally don’t post reviews unless I can something positive. I’m making an exception in this case in the hopes I can save someone my experience. Being new to Green Bay and needing an eye exam, I settled on Eye Associates and scheduled an appointment. The first step of the exam was the assistant putting drops in my eyes to dilate them. Then the doctor came in to check my prescription and eyes. Trying to read the eye chart for the prescription check with my eyes dilated was very difficult, even with the room darkened. At the end of the exam, the doctor told me he could not get my eyes corrected to 20/20. First off, I haven’t had my eyes dilated like that in years, and had been told by my eye doctor in Ct. years ago that there were now ways to check the eyes without having to dilate them. Second, when my eyes used to be dilated, that was always done after my prescription had been checked. Third, I’ve been wearing glasses for 50 years and have never had an eye doctor tell me they couldn’t correct to 20/20. Not having confidence in the prescription I walked out of the appointment with, I went to another doctor to have my prescription checked. Not only was he able to correct me to 20/20, he corrected me to 20/15. I’m not an eye doctor, so I can’t judge Eye Associate’s practices. However, the results were clearly not acceptable. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

The doctor was great and took time with her patients. The other staff however was difficult to work with. I went June 2018. I looked into my insurance and it showed this was a place that I would be possibly covered for an eye exam. I called ahead to make sure and they said they would check before I came in. The exam I would have been covered for, and the exam they did, were two different things. I asked specifically for my eyes not to be dilated because I had to drive myself back home, had other plans that involved bright environments, and I couldn't work if I was. They still dilated my eyes without telling me. I asked what she was doing and she said she was just putting some drops in my eyes so things would clear up. I have dry eyes so I wrongly assumed that they actually listened to my request. After being dilated I had to cancel all plans. Then I had a trial pair of contacts to try out. I called back saying they were good. I had to come back in to check the fit in another appointment. I liked them, but told them I wouldn't be ordering right away. 2 months later I get my bill for around $350. I didn't even get glasses and never received my prescription for my contacts. I called to see if I could figure out why it was so expensive and apparently it was because of the type of eye exam I had and my insurance didn't cover anything but something routine. Something was weird about her title too because she was considered to be a doctor but not an optometrist. This I don't pin completely on them. Finally, this July/August, I went to order contacts through a different supplier and arranged for them to call for my prescription because I never received it. Not only did the company call multiple times but they were faxed a note that said they don't have any records of me as a patient. Unfortunately, they are only open when I work so we will see if I can get my prescription or not. Update: Called and they found my information. I asked why the company was told they had no record of me as a patient. They said because I moved away I am no longer a patient of theirs. By the time the company was calling initially my prescription had not expired. So I asked again in a different way. Why did you say you had no information on me? Why couldn't you give them my prescription? They replied with "well your prescription is expired now." I explained I never got that prescription based on the card I got from the eye doctors. It was like pulling teeth to get the prescription any way, even if it was expired. I got the prescription in the mail a couple days down the road. There was bright red pen through the numbers saying expired. Either way. Doctor great, customer service poor.

I have been going to Eye Associates of Green Bay for the past four years. For the first time in 40 years of eye exams, I feel like an eye doctor was actually taking the time to perform an eye exam instead of just being shuffled in and out. Dr.Stankevych took the time to answer my questions regarding the exam and the results. Because of this, I found out my prescription didn’t need to be as strong asthe previous eye doctor from a chain made it. The rest of the staff was very welcoming and helpful when scheduling and picking out new frames. I would highly recommend Eye Associates to both friends and family.
