  We were able to make an appointment very quickly and now I understand why. We were welcomed when first arriving at this location, but were informed that they do not accept our insurance which was fine. Here comes the problems: they are EXTREMELY pushy and will try to find a way to get you an exam with their discounted price as long as you purchase your contacts/glasses from them. After finding out the cost of contacts from them, saying they gave us the best discount they can and they can only order a year supply for X amount, we decided we didn’t want to go through with the purchase. We were fine with paying out of pocket for the exam, which was not performed by an optometrist in office and was only conducted virtually. OH BOY did the attitudes change once we didn’t want to buy anything. It felts like a used car dealership when you tell the salesmen the numbers aren’t working for you!! Stanton has to be the biggest scam I’ve ever come across and not even informing you that there is no on site optometrist is actually mind blowing. I can’t fathom how they have so many good reviews. Avoid at all costs! Visionworks was the best!!

  I was greeted and help by Karina who walked me through my first time with the Hybrid exam. While choosing frames Jenny was supportive and encouraging. Once I decided on my frames, Chris was clear and concise on supporting my decision to go with one of their specials with which I am very satisfied. 5 star service for my first time here.

  Grateful to the people at Stanton for helping me get new glasses. I was worried about spending hundred on glasses but they had a payment option so I only payed $50 and financed the rest of my total. Jenny was very friendly and professional and helped me understand my prescription rather than just seeing numbers on a paper.

  i got scammed big time. I came in September 12 for a eye exam and the promotion buy 2 pairs of glasses with a free eye exam. It was all good. Two weeks later i get one pair of glasses. They were great. My other pair not ready yet. They say 2 weeks later. I'm currently still waiting for them. I call customer service and they just transfer you to the store. Where you speak to the manager. She wasn't helpful at all. I don't even want the pair of glasses anymore. I want my money back. They refuse to give it to me. I'll never go back and I'll never recommend them.

  Update 11/01/2025: Beware of this Stanton Optical. Stop scamming and taking advantage of patients. I received two calls from Stanton Optical today, but no one spoke when I answered. When I called back, customer service had no idea what was going on. I told them to remove me from their call list and email. Very unprofessional and frustrating experience. Scroll down the reviews and you’ll see other people they’ve also ripped off. 10/31/2025: I called Stanton Optical customer service earlier today to confirm if they accept UnitedHealthcare Vision. The representative clearly told me yes, they’re in-network, so I booked an appointment and drove to the San Antonio (Potranco/Loop 1604) location. When I arrived, the staff told me they’re not in-network and immediately tried to sell me out-of-pocket options instead. It was a complete waste of my time and very misleading. If your customer service team can’t give accurate insurance information, patients shouldn’t be told one thing on the phone and find out the opposite in person. Please train your staff to verify insurance properly — people rely on this information when making healthcare appointments. Very disappointing experience, and I won’t be returning.
