Every time I’d get an infection, I’d be put on antibiotics, and then those antibiotics would cause a different infection. It became a never-ending cycle, and I’ve spent nearly $3,000 just on visits, not including the cost of medications. I booked an appointment online for an IUD removal on 11/7. When I called ahead, I was told the cost would be $145, and I explained that I had recently lost my job and asked if there were any payment plan options. I was told no. When I arrived, the doctor was unable to remove my IUD and said I needed to get an ultrasound to locate it first. I wasn’t given any guidance, referrals, or help finding a provider who could do both the ultrasound and the removal in the same place. Despite the procedure not being completed, I was charged $348, which is more than double what I was originally told. The lack of transparency, support, and consistency has been incredibly frustrating, especially after months of ongoing issues and thousands of dollars spent. I left feeling dismissed, stressed, and without any real resolution.
