favoritism definitely played a role in the staff here. Aside from the nurses, many staff members only treated me better after my first month or so. We constantly heard staff members gossiping about other clients. here are genuine quotes from staff from my time here-
"___ has been here long enough, she should know how to eat by now"
"if you want to get out of here so bad, just eat."
During a family therapy session, after listing reasons why I should go home, (i had been there for 8 weeks at that point), my family therapist simply replied with "those are some things you should journal about. You'd make a good attorney."
I don't think I've ever wanted to die more than at Clem. I didn't voice my ideation because they would send you to a psych ward for a week, and when you came back, your progress would be restarted. Its been 4 months since I was released, and i still have reoccurring nightmares.

clemintine. theres no words to discribe how beneficial it was for me. i was in and out of treatment, nothing worked for me. clementine is different from any treatment center I've seen. you are treated like family and you get individualized care. i guess im trying to say, that this place saved my life.

i’ll forever love this place, clementine has changed my life for the better. i’ve been to treatment facilities before but NOTHING will ever compare to this place. i’ve struggled with an eating disorder for years now and this place has not only changed my relationship with food, it gave me a new, happier, better perspective on my life and for that, i’ll be internally grateful<3. i got admitted to clementine on 5/23/24, the very last day of my freshman year of highschool. i was so angry at my parents for many things, ruining my summer, sending me hours away from my home, but what i was most angry at was the fact that they were sending my to another treatment center knowing none have worked in the past. in my disordered 14 year old mindset i felt hopeless about this place and that it would be a waste of time and i’d come out worse then before because that’s what always happened right? i’ve never been so wrong in my life.
if you’ve never been in a treatment center before i will let you know, you do lose privileges and some freedom. yes you will have to use the bathroom with the door cracked, yes someone will have to stand outside and flush for you, yes your bedroom door will be left open and bathroom doors will be locked at all time, yes you will have to take meds every morning and night (if needed), yes someone will watching you 24/7, no you can’t have any of your devices, yes you will be on a schedule but i will tell you this.. besides all that.. these people still treat you like a human being. if you were to go anywhere else, i promise.. you would not be feeling like that. I know it sucks but everything they do is for a purpose in your recovery journey and most importantly to keep you safe.
so, if im in your parents messages or if your parent is showing you this (like my mom did😂) trying to convince you that this place isn’t bad.. believe them and believe me. i understand how your feeling and i know it can be so scary but honest to God this place will change you for the better and you will come out on the brighter side. clementine has got me to where i have a life full of meaning and i can finally live free from evil ed. this place won’t steer you wrong, these people know what their doing and the also really care for you and wants what’s best for you, trust me as someone who’s been in residential treatment before i’ve never seen staff that cares so much. yes you are client but you feel like your living with a bunch of friends. as a matter of fact, on my last week, i ended up sobbing in my favorite RC’s arms saying “i’m gonna miss you so much” and “you guys are my friends”..
if my treatment team (basically everyone there) is reading this.. i can’t thank yall enough for everything. you guys will FOREVER have a special place in my heart. i miss you guys so much<3
Please give this place a chance. the first step is always the hardest but recovery is worth it.
Thank you for everything clem🧡

When first arriving here it looks like a comforting place, however this is quite the opposite. When I was first admitted I was angry and was viewed as hostile, by other clients and staff. I was called in because I was apparently ruining clients relationships with staff however I said nothing that wasn’t already said behind closed doors. I found no comfort from staff especially not family therapists, I lost trust in family and stopped calling in the 15 minute time limit we were allowed to have at the end of the day. Favoritism played a major role as some people who were not well got up in the ranks while others who were doing better were put down for acting out, FAMILY THERAPIST HAD MORE SAY IN MY RECOVERY THAN MY ACTUAL ONE if she didn’t like you then you were not making progress. I finished every meal and was ridiculed while doing so, everything we could talk about was heavily restricted even for things that weren’t bad. Blankets are not allowed because of people cuddling. The staff environment isn’t the only thing that’s negative, a lot of the fellow clients were extremely toxic and one ridiculed another for having seizures. I stopped trusting therapists all together, I hated every second being there, I felt hopeless and had more suicidal thoughts there than ever. You had no say in your recovery and wasn’t told if you were even progressing. The place was a prison. I resented my parents for months after and the only reason l eat is because I’m scared I’ll get sent back, I have nightmares to this day. Vegetarians were forced to eat meat. You were treated like a prisoner, NO PRIVACY. everything that made me, me was taken away (I don’t mean ED). I heavily urge you to reconsider, send your kids to ERC I had a better experience that isn’t as dehumanizing.
