To the pharmacist on staff today who decided to argue with me about veterinarians automatically having NPI numbers upon graduation, and the inability to fill medications without it: "No, veterinarians (DVMs) do not have National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers because NPIs are for human healthcare providers billing Medicare/Medicaid, which vets don't serve. Pharmacies sometimes ask for the vet's DEA number as a workaround, but this is technically only for controlled substances, and the vet's license number is the proper identifier for non-controlled meds." Please make sure the pharmacists on staff are properly educated on WHAT they are telling people before they do so, as the medication to be filled was a non-controlled substance and there's no reason as to why it couldn't be filled with the DVM information provided.

Best pharmacy that I've used in Texas. They've sourced difficult to get medications, helped work with insurance shortly before closing, and have always been nothing but professional and courteous. Love that they have a drive through. I started taking one new RX and while I usually say I don't need counsel, they pharmacist provided more information about the RX than my doctor had, including information that was important for me to know about what food and supplement items would affect its absorption. He even called me shortly after I left to let me know another piece of information! Very thankful for this pharmacy and its employees. EDIT to Add: the above is all true, but some things I would find helpful that apply to Tom Thumb pharmacies overall: -- an option to autofill medication rather than having to call and ask every month -- they send automatic voicemails saying that an RX is ready for pick up, but they don't say which medication or medications. As someone with lots of RXs, knowing which are ready would be great. Seems like something the AI who calls could do!

After 30 years of endless screw ups I’m done with this pharmacy. There is always a delay. Delay in preparation of your prescriptions, this has to be the worst pharmacy in Arlington. I sit at the drive through window and wait wait wait. And they aren’t even busy. The person at the window does nothing to make you feel like a valued customer. It will take some time to move all my doctors information to somewhere else but it will be worth it to be gone from here. It’s just never a good experience doing business at this location

I called to confirm they had a certain medication in stock so I could have what was filled at a different Tom Thumb Pharmacy transferred over to this one since I wasn’t going to be able to get back to the original location today and was told they did and would have it ready within an hour or so. Called back a few hours later to not be pushy or rush them and spoke with a very disinterested and frankly rude sounding pharmacist who told me it was too early to fill. I explained to her my previous conversation and situation that it had already been filled the day before but needed to be redone at their location instead and she told me again it was too early to fill and my insurance wouldn’t allow for it. We did this a handful more times like Groundhog Day before it maybe clicked in her head what I was asking but frankly it sounded like it wouldn’t be filled in time by this point so I advised her to not mess with it. With my condition, this is something that is actually a little imperative I have and it’s very frustrating the lack of concern or follow through that happened.

This is my preferred pharmacy. The pharmacy staff really calls your insurance and doctor when you need them most. They earned my trust.
