  Absolutely terrible! This was my first and last visit to Stanton Optical in Florence. I walked in expecting a standard eye exam, but the entire experience felt rushed, disorganized, and unprofessional from start to finish. When I arrived, I was handed an iPad to enter my personal information. One section of the form wouldn’t work, so I asked for help. The employee casually told me, “Oh, that part never works.” That should have been my first red flag. The “exam” was not a real in-person exam. Instead, I was connected to a virtual doctor who spent maybe three minutes with me. She didn’t review anything with me afterward — no explanation of results, no discussion of my prescription, nothing. Afterward, another employee handed me trial contacts. My left contact matched my prescription, but the right one was labeled for astigmatism — something I’ve never been told I have, and something the doctor never mentioned during the exam. When I questioned it, the employee insisted it was correct. But when I put the contacts in, my right eye felt wrong immediately. I told him repeatedly that something didn’t seem right. His answer was that astigmatism contacts are “just thicker” and I’d have to get used to them. After several minutes, he finally admitted that the contact he gave me wasn’t even the correct prescription — he didn’t have the right one in stock, so he gave me a weaker one “to try anyway.” At that point I had zero confidence in anything they were doing. To make matters worse, when I looked at my printed prescription later, it wasn’t even signed by the doctor who examined me. The exam was done by a woman online, but the prescription was signed by a male doctor I never saw or spoke to. That is extremely concerning. I paid $120 for an exam that lasted only a few minutes, an incorrect and misleading prescription, and staff who did not seem knowledgeable or transparent. I left frustrated, unable to see properly, and feeling like my money was completely wasted. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this location to anyone.

  I had a small issue with the lenses on both pairs of my glasses, which understandably not made on site, and the team at Stanton Optical handled everything with professionalism, care, and understanding. The service was excellent from start to finish, and I truly appreciate how quickly and thoroughly they resolved the problem. Special thanks to Manager Brandon, Assistant Manager Adriana, and Bobby for their outstanding customer service. Their professionalism and kindness made the experience stress-free, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend Stanton Optical!

  Of your looking for a one on one doctor experience don’t go here they do a virtual exam . The Chinese lady who I happened to have my exam with was very impatient and changed both of my prescriptions for both eyes also one having astigmatism. (Which I’ve had since middle school) . I’m sure eye sights can change as far as age goes and vision. Also, I got a trial pair and one contact with astigmatism was bothering me so I went to see if they could supply me with a regular contact and that was last Thursday. Went up there today and was told it’s still processing. Never once was I offered a trial of the left contact to ensure it was going to be a proper fit . Instead I keep getting turned around and told to wait after paying 160 dollars out of pocket for a eye exam with someone virtually. I’m never going back and don’t recommend this to anyone . Also, thank gos for my back up eye glasses otherwise I’d be having major headaches and walking around damn near blind !

  I was very disappointed with my experience. I was surprised to find that there was no doctor on site and that I was expected to complete a virtual exam instead. That struck me as unprofessional and unreliable — and after reading other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who feels that way. It was also unsettling to overhear the bald, red-bearded manager reprimanding an employee in the next room. That kind of issue should be handled privately, not within earshot of customers. Lastly, the selection of frames was quite limited compared to other eyewear locations I’ve visited. The store felt more like a stripped-down front operation than a genuine eyewear provider.
