So after 2 hrs I'm trying to figure out whats going on & i was informed that we the nurse in charge has to get permission from the Dr. to administer anything. Well an hr after that we get meds & fluids still no Dr. At 11:24 the doctor shows up at tell us she's just getting in (Dr. Shift change). They made us wait my daughter stomach & feet started to swell she complaining about chest pains short of breath & the nurse told me THIS IS GOOD AS Y OUR GOING TO GET IT.

Some of these Doctors, Nurses, Tech , dietary staff and environmental people need to understand that we as patient are paying their salary . Why are these people coming to work around sick people with the perfume and cologne on like they're going out to a club or something, understand something people some of us have allergies, I have complained and it falls on death ear, my medical chart is also flagged to allergies. Unless these orders are enforced it will remain the same. I sick and tired coming to the hospital and it smell like I'm at a nightclub.I would not be coming here if I had another choice, I don't like being here no more than some of you like working and doing the right things toward your patients.

I was turned away from the ER 1 night & I had an allergic reaction because I was broke out in hives (on my skin), I had sores in my mouth as well, I had my inhaler because I have asthma & i stated that it was hard to breath, & my epi pen with me. All because some nurse walked over to where I was being checked in at & that Red Head is the who said that I would be ok but I went 2 days later to Low Country Urgent Care. I was dehydrated, allergic reaction which caused me to break out in hives, all over my body including inside my mouth, & I had a UTI. The doctor at Low Country would not allow me to leave without me having an IV bag to help me with the dehydration but also I had to get Lidocaine Oral Mouth Rinse, just so I could eat or drink anything. If I had not been aware of what an Allergic Reaction & Hives where because I developed a hormonal imbalance which is Autoimmune when I was Pregnant so I knew what to do about the Allergic Reaction & knew what I needed to do & get so that i would be ok but if that had been someone who did not know that could have been really bad for McLeod Hospital because they are suppose to be the Best Hospital & it is against the Law to turn away patients from a Hospital?! I do hope that there ER Department has gotten better because of my Medical Training, I knew qhat I needed to get & do but if that had been someone who did not, they possibly could have died!

My recent visit to the emergency Wednesday October 9. The staff and the entrance desk took care of me as soon as I came in the door. When they put me in a room the nursing staff, doctors, and other staff members where good and professional. When they transferred to the observation area. Nursing staff was ok but they had one nurse name Latasha R. RN that talked to me so nasty. She came in my room with an attitude. I can't remember everything she said but I do remember when I asked why the room is so cold she stated "I don't have anything to do with that" The next time she came in the room we got in to an altercation. I told her I wanted another nurse. When I was at the desk waiting to be discharged I asked for her name. She wrote her first name on a piece of paper and stated she does not give anyone her last name. I reported her to the supervisor. Not all nurses are like this but she is a bad representation of nurses and a Mcleod employee.
