I used to use the Mauldin office, but as I live in Greenwood and was having bunion and hammer toe surgery the end of September, Dr. Lundberg suggested I try the Clinton office since I would have multiple follow-up visits. My entire experience from the surgical procedure, to the follow-up visits at Clinton, to Dr. Lundberg's responsiveness on the two occasions in which I needed to reach out to him have been wonderful, especially considering you have long waits in almost any medical situation these days. Staff is always efficient and courteous, they have won my loyalty.

I am sharing this detailed review in hopes it helps others make an informed decision when choosing a doctor’s office. I first selected this practice for two reasons: (1) their availability was much sooner than other offices, which I now realize may have been a red flag, and (2) a family member, who is also a physician in the Upstate, knew one of the doctors personally. While he did not recommend him professionally, he noted that he seemed like a nice person. The scheduling staff was polite and explained the initial costs as well as my insurance coverage. At my first appointment, the doctor taped my foot and asked me to follow up in a few days, which did provide some relief. He explained that if the taping worked, orthotics would likely be the next step. When I returned to be fitted for orthotics, the process felt more like a high-pressure sales pitch than a medical consultation. I was told the out-of-pocket costs and informed that adjustments would be covered during the warranty period. However, shortly after, I began receiving repeated calls, emails, and texts about small outstanding balances ($30–$40). When I contacted the office, I was told the charges were due to an error at my previous visit. Even after paying, I continued to receive notices claiming my bill was past due. Staff later explained that although my payment was received, it could not be applied until my next appointment—something that seemed questionable. After the estimated four weeks, I still had not received my orthotics. When I called, I was told the office was waiting for insurance payment before releasing them to me—despite the fact that I had already paid my portion. Upon further investigation, I discovered they had not even filed the insurance claim. Only after pointing this out was I told I could pick them up. When the orthotics did not provide relief, I returned to the doctor, who agreed adjustments were needed and ordered an MRI. To my surprise, I was billed for another office visit (and co-pay) even though I had been assured that orthotic adjustments during the warranty period would not incur additional costs. In reality, while the adjustments themselves were free, the requirement to schedule and pay for another doctor’s visit made the promise misleading—what I would describe as a “bait and switch.” Both physicians I saw were personable and professional. However, the office practices, billing processes, and communication from staff left me with significant concerns. At this time, I am seeking another provider to review my MRI results and continue my care. As my family member in the medical field wisely said, “You can have the best doctors and nurses, but if the office staff and administrative processes are poor, the overall care will suffer.” Unfortunately, that has been my experience with this practice.
