St. Joes is an absolute paradise! Such a beautiful place to go and work on yourself. The staff are amazing and the treatment is so productive. They're pulling strings you may not realize to help you!! Thanks to St. Joes I've found me again. He was lost for a long time in the fog of a deep depression, masking that with substance use, I thought he was gone forever. Thank you guys so much for an opportunity to live again, not just exist. If you are struggling and need help, give them a call. They will pick you up and mark will call you everyday until they do to ask how you are doing! I've never been to a more beautiful place that helps you as a whole being, mind, body, and soul! Chuck Rose

SJI was by far THE best experience for me and my recovery. I wish I had known about them years ago. Top notch facility with compassionate, educated and all around amazing staff. From the kitchen to housekeeping & maintenance to nursing, RAs and counselors/clinical staff...they were ALL so supportive and kind. I never felt like I was treated "less than" like some other places do. The facility is absolutely beautiful even in the winter lol highly recommend SJI to anyone looking to start their recovery journey!!! They also offer an alumni app & weekly Zoom meeting, which I don't think I've missed since being home🤗Melissa who runs this group goes above and beyond to be there for any and every one she meets. Probably juggles thousands of recovering clients and does it with grace & love🥰Crazy to say but I kinda miss SJI. They'll always have a special place in my heart🫶🏼 ❤️Reisa *Forever an SJI family member*

I went in terrified, and almost one year later I feel human again!! When I entered SJI just under a year ago, I had never been to rehab before. I admitted myself for treatment of alcoholism. I didn’t know what to expect but I knew I was going to do my very best to take everything in while I was there for 30 days. I love nature so viewing the pictures on the website had me anxious to be in the middle of nowhere. It IS a beautiful campus, but just like all other things in the internet, the pictures were on beautifully perfect weather days. The rooms aren’t as nice as they appear online, but they were clean and well kept by housekeeping. Not all rooms have a private bathroom, but I wasn’t there for a spa retreat, I was there to get help. The staff is incredible. From my first hello to my last see ya later, every staff member made it known that they wanted us ALL to succeed. If you didn’t go to group, you were asked to go. As adults we had choices to go or not go. Yet if you want to succeed at a goal in life, you’ll listen to the advice of people who have accomplished the goal. The RA’s encouraged us on our hard days, laughed with us on our silly days, and if you were serious about your recovery, they were always behind you with assistance in any way they could. Not everyone tried their best in my opinion. And that’s on them, not me. If you want a goal achieved then you have to put in the work. This goes for everything in life! SJI gave me the tools and I have been using them everyday since I left. The other counselors will meet with you if yours is not available. You treat people with respect and you will get respect. Rehab was not a play ground for me and I’m sorry if I offend anyone. When my counselor Emily wasn’t available, I knew someone else would be there w an open door. Maybe not the minute I went to their door, but I was assisted. I honestly thought some of the activities/groups were silly, mundane, repetitive. We all learn in different ways so SJI showed us different coping skills and how to be productive in our own way. Many people did find other tools helpful when I didn’t. That’s what made it special. If you looked, you could find your learning place for recovery. The food was ok. Was not gourmet like I remember the site saying, but it was food. Again I wasn’t there for the amenities, I was there learning how to live a sober life. I know some of my meal choices while drinking were much worse!! So I tried to always remember that. The nurses were dealt a crazy hand with med pass time. Again, we were all adults and those of us that chose to wait patiently while meds were being passed, had zero issues with the nursing staff. They kept it professional. Kudos to them all for that! Looking back almost one year into recovery, I remember things on a daily basis I learned at SJI. I keep in touch with fellow alum and have a support system that reminds me how blessed I am to have learned so much. My children have a happier mother. I am more productive and HAPPY in my field of work. I have changed a lot of things in my life that HAD to be changed in order for me to stay sober. I put my heart into Saint Joes and I got an entire life back. Put in the work and the blessing will over flow your cup. I can’t wait to get my one year medallion this week. It was just a year ago I was reading these reviews, and I hope my experience will help someone out there who was just like me.
