  My husband went to this provider since his previous gastroenterologist retired and went for a preventive colonoscopy and the consultant asked a bunch of questions and said she didn’t know if this is covered by insurance but she will indicate medical conditions so it’s covered well after I heard that we called the insurance and it is covered as long as it’s billed as preventive 100% but diagnostic we would have to pay. I informed the office that he came in for a preventive Colonoscopy and they insisted they were going to bill it as diagnostic because of his age, colon cancer runs in the family. They refused to do any work themselves to discover it would have been covered by insurance 100% as preventive but insisted we had to pay our deductible and coinsurance upfront. This office is disorganized and incompetent to handle scheduling a routine colonoscopy we are not taken chances with the doctors touching us. A waste of a $50 copay since we insisted to cancel the procedure due to their incompetency and would suggest finding a different Gastroenterologist.

  After making sure from the online account page of my insurer that Gastroenterology Assoc (GA) is in-network, I called for a first appointment and they were skeptical about the coverage and demanded that I call my insurance to confirm that GA is in-network. Because I wanted a particular doctor associated with them, I didn't make a big deal and called my insurer to get a second confirmation on the phone. Then I called back GA and made an appointment. I went in for the first check with a nurse and to make the actual appointment for the procedure. Having filled out a detailed patient data sheet, I got a basic health check, and then instructions on how to prepare for the procedure which we set up for two weeks later. I got charged $50 co-pay on the spot for this. Then, less than a week before the procedure, they call and tell me they don't accept my insurance. So, at this point, I have no more trust with this provider anymore, and am ready to cancel the whole procedure. So, I cancelled the procedure. All that time I wasted I could not get back but I thought maybe I could get back my co-pay. They refused that too. Then I contacted my insurer to make sure they are in-network, and I got a *third* confirmation that they are in-network. Basically, this company is run by incompetent management. I have not seen the doctor, so maybe he is a nice guy. But I had no chance to find out. At any rate, avoid this provider if you want to preserve your peace of mind, and maybe health as well...

  I had a 10:15 appointment. I arrived at 10:16 and Dr. Pickle refused to see me. I took a day off for this appointment. I tried to explain that. The receptionist told me that he has a mandatory 15 minute arrive early policy. I explained that this was not shared with me when I scheduled. I also have been there before and never arrived 15 minutes early. I pulled up my appointment reminder through MyChart and no where in the message did it state anything about arriving early to my appointment. I visited the website where it also does not state anything about this “policy”. I informed the receptionist that I was very upset about this because it was really important that I saw a doctor and because of missing work. The response I got was “I’m sorry, that’s just how he is”. She asked if I wanted to reschedule and I said I was not going to be seen in an office where patients were treated this way and I left. She was kind and apologetic. My anger and disbelief is for the doctor who thinks his time is more valuable than his patients. If you want to have a policy, make sure it’s clearly stated and makes sense. If you wanted me there at 10, then you should have made my appointment at 10. Trust me, I don’t appreciate or like tardiness in my line of work either, but this took it to another level. So disheartened by this experience.
