CycleBar Tigard is the best money I spend for myself. While this place is great for people who are already fit, I want to recommend it to those that want to start on a fitness journey. When I look around, I see such diversity in classes. They are very accepting to anyone who walks through that door. I’ve seen older women in their 60’s to 70’s. People in hijabs, plus size women, men, people of all skin tones. This place is really for everyone. My wife is trans and the staff have been nothing but kind to us. They don’t treat us any differently from anyone else but they just treat us like people, which is all we want. The classes are challenging, especially at first they can be intimidating, but they create a welcoming space that lessens the initial jitters of starting something new. All of the instructors have the philosophy that it’s you versus you. If you need to sit and bike the whole hour, which many do, that is okay. It’s a great place to build up your fitness. When we joined we got a membership of 50 dollars for 4 classes and we started with just once a week. We now have their monthly membership for 100 dollars for unlimited and try to go 3 times a week. Their connect classes are a good place to start as they don’t do arm exercises and it’s not focused on the numbers but you and what you are capable of. The instructors are all fantastic. Here are a few that I’ve seen enough to give feedback on but you really can’t go wrong as they are all wonderful and sweethearts. Jessica: You can tell that Jessica is an expert as an instructor. She smoothly blends pushing hard with knowing how to guide her classes. She pays attention and seems to have an intuitive feel for what her classes need. Her voice is very clear and is easy to understand. She tends to do less speed and I notice slightly more gear which I love. I would have never known she was shy had she not told me. But if you’re also shy and struggle with socializing know that not everyone there is an extrovert. Nicole: She is probably the sweetest sounding person I have met but she works you hard in class. She is very motivating and will be your cheerleader. If she sees you struggling with a move she will tell you how hard you’re working and to keep it up. I find this highly motivating because she’s never mean. She just wants to see you work hard. This means lots of “you can do it”, and “I see you!” She does a little more speed in her classes. I love that she tries to build personal connections and you will see her floating around the room to say hi to everyone in her classes. Emily: We took her class first and she is a blast. She likes to have fun during her workouts and there is always a good atmosphere. You will leave smiling and sore. She also always has a really good motivating message to say and she is my wife’s favorite for motivating speeches. She does more choreographed moves and they can be fast. Her Saturday classes fill up quickly so sign up early! Ari: She is another great beginner instructor. She gives clear directions and her choreography is slower than the others so it’s a great one to start with. She has a great memory for faces and will remember song recommendations and take the time to just look them up for fun. We have only had her a few times but she made an impact on my wife for remembering her and looking up Orville Peck after class. There are also other instructors but I’ve only taken a handful of classes so I don’t know them as well. But shoutout to the other lovely instructors: y’all are equally amazing. I just haven’t taken enough to know your distinct style and don’t want to misrepresent. This place is wonderful. They build a strong community of people and lean into building rapport with their clients. I’ve been going for 4 or so months and I leave feeling better, stronger and more connected to others. I get the hype around cycling classes now. I love going and I love the people. Thanks for running a business that is great for anyone to try out.

I have a lot of gym anxiety and never wanted to get a personal trainer with the fear of letting them down. But I went to my first cycle class today and they decorated a locker for me and EVERYONE was so incredibly nice and welcoming. In the class I did get nervous that I wasn’t keeping up or good enough but I made it through and after everyone was telling me how good I was doing. Because realistically no one is comparing and I realized I needed to stop comparing myself to others around me. I was encouraged to go my own pace and have my own experience. I’m definitely going to come back. And thank you everyone for making sure I was welcomed and comfortable 💕
