Update 3: 12/26/2023- I want to stop by and update my review as a neighbor of Community Medical Services. This has been a rocky season and before this clinic was up and running there was a period of time that crime went sky high and the police were being called to the area daily.
Things are starting to improve around the neighborhood. The alley used to be full of overdoses and crime and now more often than not, we see the hard working people of CMS showing up every day and that’s commendable.
Thank you for helping these lost souls and wounded warriors. Thank you for being a consistent and positive presence in the neighborhood.

Update2: You cannot receive the credit without also receiving responsibility. If Community Medical Services is going to own and operate this center in this neighborhood, they need to also staff appropriately.
A security guard for the area would greatly reduce the strain on the Salem Police Department who has to both patrol this area more, and responds to disturbances almost nightly.
Shoulder the responsibility you have taken on by purchasing and labeling this building. Replace the security it used to have.
Regardless if it is in operation right now or not, you owe this neighborhood and your future patients a safe space. There used to be security here with the last occupants. Have compassion for all. Fix it.

Original: The police have come and gone. This poor woman has been shooting up fentanyl and standing like this on and off all day. It’s really nice to see what Community Medical Services is doing for the city of Salem.
