After receiving an unexpectedly large medical bill and speaking with other providers, I realized they were scheduling unnecessary appointments and double-billing my visits. My new provider, on the other hand, has been very understanding about the cost of care, worked out a fair payment plan with me, and maintains an appropriate appointment cadence. The therapist I was seeing, upon first meeting me, asked me what we could do to make me a "contributing member of society"....I have 3 jobs, a marriage and pay my bills. I am a contributing member of society and this was an incredibly inappropriate thing to say to someone grappling with mental health issues. Further, an alternate provider lied to me about disabilities (confirmed by the US gov policies) AND had the nerve to tell me to ask my PCP to lie to the gov to claim disability for something that 1- was not true and 2- was not even a condition covered under disability. The only reason I gave 3 stars and not 0 is because the administrative staff is fantastic. Too bad about the providers.
