I have been a customer of Safeway Pharmacy on Coburg road for over 30 years. Have been quite satisfied until this year. Triple or more the wait times. Most often, only one of the 2 registers are manned. Very dissatisfied and looking for a new Pharmacy that processes quicker.

Pros: - Nice folks, pleasant even when people are in a rush or being irritable. - Line is next to fridges and freezers, so at least it's nice and cold on a hot day? - When it's your turn at the register, it (usually) goes quickly, at least for me. (This is not saying it is for everyone, just my personal experience.) Cons: - Long wait line every time. Plan for 30ish minutes minimum. - If you have multiple prescriptions that need to be filled, they won't fill them at the same time, I've had to wait days for 4 to be completed that I ordered at the same time. If you get a text saying one is done but you ordered multiple, you will have to wait for the others to be completed. I don't know the reason behind this. - Didn't fill a prescription that I asked for on the website, which they offered to fill it at a later date when I went to pick up all meds. I said I needed it that day (they are extremely important, missing one day is exceedingly bad which is why I plan a week+ ahead), but then spent another half an hour waiting at the store to be called and another 20 minutes in line again for them to complete the order. - Systems are almost always slow or dysfunctional every time I go there. - Auto refill on things I've asked not to, no auto refill on the things I've asked to. - I asked for a consultation on new medication (injections) and I found out a few weeks later by my doctor when it wasn't working that I had been informed incorrectly and was taking half of the dose I was supposed to. I know people are going from one stars to five stars from extremely different experiences and I wish I could realistically give a better rating because I hate pointing out flaws, but it's either going to work for you or it won't. Try them for yourself and see if you're part of the 5 star group or the 1 star group and then base your judgement on that. EDIT: If I could retract all stars I would. This particular Pharmacy has finally dropped the ball enough times that I cannot, in good faith, say they're worth using. I ordered through the website to get a same-day delivery on time, which did not get delivered the same day. The next day, not only had I still not received my medication that I paid extra for same day delivery, but I was given the run around and hung up on 4 times during this ordeal. I was told the meds were not picked up by the courier by one person, who said he would get ahold of their courier and put me on hold, which eventually I was hung up on. The second woman I spoke with when I called back said that this wasn't their (the Pharmacy's) fault or problem but said that the first Tech was trying to get ahold of the courier and would call me back. No call back. Half an hour before the Pharmacy was to close, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again, in which I was again given the runaround but by this time an associate named Brittney. I was concerned and frustrated that no one had communicated to her what the situation was and after being told I must have been "a glitch in the system" because this pharmacy doesn't deliver... Which it does. I've had it delivered several times before. Again I was put on hold and hung up on. Nothing got done. It was made clear to me that it is MY responsibility to contact Safeway's courier instead to figure out the situation and "work it out with them". My injections (as stated above), are now overdue and in a lapse of medication. After such an awful experience, I politely asked for the store name, store manager and a number for corporate so that I can express my concern and anger about the massive amount of failures I've had with this Pharmacy. When I asked for the corporate number, Brittney muttered to me that "she'll just look it up for me, but I could have just done it myself". When I said the copped attitude wasn't needed, she said that I had been giving her attitude all night, so I had started it. The customer service from all 4 techs that I spoke to on this was abysmal and unbelievable in the way they all had 0 communication, so for the 4+ time I am without medications again.

Have they ever considered having more than one pharmacy tech for the ever growing lines by the day?

After having to call to refill my daughters prescription, and actually getting thru to someone is a job in its self, then waiting in line for 30 min to be handed the wrong Rx. I explained to the staff member it was wrong and was met with an attitude of I don’t care. This is a controlled substance I shouldn’t have left with the wrong rx. I told her that and she was zero help and said I needed to call my daughter’s doc. So I left with the wrong rx and called. The doc office was so gracious and was kind and said they would urgently get a team member on it. I have not heard anything and had my own rx to pick up today so I go to get them and am met with we can not fill that, because we already filled it. No, like I said you filled the wrong rx and I repeatedly told your staff member that. Again was met with an it’s your problem not ours attitude. I will never go back.

Seriously the WORST pharmacy I've ever delt with. Trying to get a prescription I forgot at home while I traveled here. My doctor sent in a 3 day rx for emergency status and they wouldn't fill it.
