Buckle up, buttercups, this will be a long one. My story begins with a bad neck. I tried many different pillow options and was consistently going to my regular chiropractor, until she didn't really have anything else she could do for me. I was always in pain, couldn't look left or right and was at my absolute wits end. Y'all know what that's like, where you feel betrayed by your body, frustrated it's not doing what it always used to do. It's hard and depressing. I heard about Prolific Wellness from my gym coach. I decided to check it out since I didn't have a lot of other options. I will say, their preliminary phone call is quite repetitive and long. I felt like I answered the same question phrased differently a few times. I get it though. They want to make sure you're in the right place. Anyways, there was an intro sesh to meet with Dr. Tony, go over what hurts, what's the problem, what's the game plan, and the cost. Y'all. I know it's a lot. I know. I'm just a single millennial with a roommate, so yeah, the price hurts. But here's the justification: Dr. Tony becomes your friend, your cheerleader, the voice of reason, and your coach. He spends the entire hour of your appointment adjusting you, giving you movements to work on, and exercises to complete. He's so easy to talk to and is just a genuinely good dude. Plus he lets you pick the music and he has free drinks! So win win win. Before you start, let me give you a word of advice: you get out what you put in. He gives you the tools and the knowledge but you have to do the work. Some weeks, I just didn't want to. But guess who suffers? It's not Dr. Tony. The knowledge and movements that I've learned are things I'll be able to take with me and utilize every week, even without Prolific Wellness. I've had about ten sessions and only have a few more, but we've been able to address my OG issue, along with some others that have crept up now that my neck isn't hoarding all my pain receptors. I am genuinely going to miss Dr. Tony and his team.
Disclaimer: Y'all I'm not a professional athlete. I wouldn't even classify myself as an athlete. I just try to lift heavy weights. But I care tremendously about my body and treating myself kindly so if you think you need to be an athlete to see him? Stop that. You have a body, don't you? Then take care of it.
To summarize the novel above: everyone I interacted with was respectful and nice. Dr. Tony knows what he's doing and he cares about his work. You can tell he loves helping people and loves what he does. He gave me the tools to take care of myself, be pain free, and improve my weightlifting. I'd 1000% recommend. You can't put a price on a healthy body.
Update: I finished my sessions! I wanted to make sure I had the full picture to be able to provide an honest review. Plus I'm a procrastinator. Everything I said above remains, with the addition of a new team member: Dr. Zach. I am but a glowstick in the hands of Dr. Zach. Who knew the way to my heart was through cracking every joint in my body, but here we are. I'd like a bumpersticker that says "I ♥️ Dr. Zach".
