Thank you for testing my daughter’s hearing , twice! She’s been cleared. The hearing testing , for both appts , weren’t overwhelming for her when she was a baby or when she tested again recently as a 2 year old. The specialists are kind and understand babies and toddlers. Also convenient that this clinic is located in Guelph and easy to find. Highly recommend.

I waited a while to make this review until I saw a certified audiologist so I would know what a good experience was like. Seeing an actual audiologist was better than what I experienced at Connect Hearing, where you're basically dealing with salespeople, not audiologists specifically. I went to Pooja to have my hearing tested. She used the machine to test everything, which spits out the information for her to read and things indicated that I would benefit from using hearing aids. (The audiologist I visited doesn't use a machine to record the data, they are trained to take it and examine it themselves). After thinking about it I purchased a very good, expensive set. I did not enjoy my experience wearing them for multiple reasons, partly because of the service that was provided to me. First, I was not told how emotional it was to be to be able to hear things for the first time that I had never heard before. It sounds silly, but it was overwhelming and was not prepared for this at all. After talking to many people about it and reading about it this is not uncommon so it would have been nice to be warned. I felt her communication with me was like her reading from a script, not caring for my situation, and it was really her wanting me to purchase the hearing aids from her. They were also set at a very high volume. She started the volume at 96% and it went up by 2% each day until it was at 100%. Every day after taking them off my ears would ring for almost an hour but Pooja told me it was fine because it went away each night. Well, after a week of this, one evening, the ringing didn't go away, and hasn't since. For the first time in my life I heard a constant ringing. I was so alarmed and stressed by this that I couldn't sleep for days. Pooja told me to not be scared and just to keep wearing the aids and it would probably go away. It didn't. I have constant tinnitus day and night. When I made a follow up appointment I was told in an accusatory tone that I have tinnitus in my family so... yeah. Then a colleague said she should have set the volume to start at much lower, like 80%. I was just encouraged to keep wearing the aids and it would go away. It never has. I was told at purchase that the style I purchased would be fine to wear with sunglasses or glasses. I found that they hurt my ears (like the back of my ears) after a few hours each day and was even worse when I wore my glasses. I often had headaches while wearing them. This was not addressed. I was told I would just get used to it and she basically shrugged? But then another person in the clinic said there were different ones that I might prefer. Would have been nice to know! I called the office again to return the aids because the experience was not to my liking. The receptionist inexplicably referred to Pooja as a doctor. She is not a doctor. I asked, "What doctor?" then she changed what she said. She said I needed to make an appointment to return them. Turns out I didn't, but I didn't know that until after I had to sit there and endure it. I guess the one good thing is that I got a full refund and I didn't have to fight for it because I was still in the trial stage of purchase. I have since seen an actual audiologist who is going to try to help me manage the tinnitus, and perhaps I will revisit using aids (a different kind that won't hurt) once I have gotten over this frustrating experience. I would give zero stars if I could but I can't. I guess the one star can be for that I got all my money back, but nothing will take away the constant ringing. I wish I had never gone there and that I had done my research. If I had understood the differences in care I would have gone to an audiologist straight from the beginning and maybe I wouldn't be having to sleep with white noise for the rest of my life. I made it clear when returning my hearing aids that I've now been robbed of silence. Anyway, do your research depending on your needs would be my advice, and if you can afford it, see an audiologist.

Not sure where my original review from 3 years ago went 🤔 but I know it was a good one! Cees is awesome. So down-to-earth and never rushes. He answered all my questions and worked out the best option for my hearing aids. I know I need to get checked again soon. When I do, it will definitely be Cees I see!
