Hughes Health in Polaris has honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my body in a long time. My knees and ankles have taken a beating over the years, and I finally needed to do something real about it. They didn’t rush me, didn’t guess, and didn’t throw some quick fix at me. They actually listened, broke down what was going on, and built a plan that made sense for where I’m at right now.
What stood out most was how intentional everything feels…. every stretch, every therapy, every adjustment has a purpose. And it’s already helping me move better and feel better day to day. If you’ve been putting off taking care of those old injuries or that constant pain, I’d definitely recommend checking them out. They’ve helped me more than I expected.

Dr. Hughes is awesome! As a physical therapist myself, I'm super picky with who I let work on my body. He knows his stuff and is a great provider. Highly recommend.
Do I need a referral to see a sports medicine doctor or chiropractor?
A referral is not required to consult our providers. However, if you're currently under the care of another healthcare professional and wish to establish a collaborative approach, they can directly refer you to us using the form available on our website.
How do I schedule an appointment?
We offer two convenient scheduling options. You can book online by selecting 'New patient' under 'Book by treatment' and following the prompts to choose your preferred date and time. Alternatively, you can text or call 614-681-0408 to request an appointment. In both cases, you'll receive a confirmation with intake paperwork to complete.
Why is it important to complete my intake paperwork before my appointment?
Completing your intake paperwork in advance is essential for several reasons. It allows our doctors to review your medical history and current health concerns before your visit, enabling them to provide more tailored care. It also helps streamline the check-in process, reducing wait times. Failure to complete the paperwork may result in appointment delays or rescheduling.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring a valid photo id to verify your identity and maintain the security of your medical records. If you have any relevant medical documents or diagnostic images, please bring these as well. This additional information helps us provide more personalized treatment.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your initial visit will be comprehensive and personalized. The doctor will conduct a thorough medical history review, discuss your health goals, and perform a physical examination. If necessary, specialized testing or referrals for advanced imaging may be arranged. Based on this assessment, we will develop a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
What kind of sauna is at Hughes Health? Is it a steam or infrared sauna?
Hughes health offers a traditional hot rock steam sauna, which is unique in the greater Columbus area. This type of sauna can reach higher temperatures compared to infrared saunas and provides a moist heat environment, as opposed to the dry heat of infrared saunas.
How long is a sauna session? How long should I stay in there?
We offer 30-minute time slots for sauna use. A typical session lasts between 15 to 20 minutes, but duration can vary based on individual heat tolerance. For beginners, we recommend starting with shorter 5-10 minute sessions and gradually increasing the time. It's important to listen to your body and stay properly hydrated.
How often should I use a steam sauna?
For general wellness, we recommend 2-3 sauna sessions per week. However, frequency can vary depending on individual health goals and heat tolerance. Athletes or those using the sauna for recovery may benefit from more frequent sessions.
Can a steam sauna help with pain relief and recovery?
Yes, steam saunas can be beneficial for pain relief and recovery. The heat helps relax muscles, reduce stiffness, and improve circulation. This can be particularly helpful for individuals recovering from injuries, managing chronic pain, or alleviating post-workout soreness.
Can I use my HSA and FSA to pay for treatment?
Yes, we accept both HSA and FSA cards for payment. These accounts allow you to pay for medical care with tax-free funds, potentially providing a discount equivalent to your tax rate. We recommend checking with your HR department for specific coverage criteria.
