I made an appointment with Dr Knapp and unfortunately had to cancel the day before. Surprisingly they did not charge the $50 charge for a last minute cancellations. However I went into the office to reschedule and when finished I had a screw missing out of my glasses frame so I politely asked if they could replace it since I was becoming a new patient thinking a screw that likely costs .10 would not be a problem. Boy was I wrong. I was very unpleasantly, actually quite rudely as if it was completely offensive that I even asked, told that since I had not purchased the glasses from them it was not their problem and refused to do it. As I walked out of the office rather upset the lens fell out of my glasses again aggravating me even more. Frustrated I went down the street and saw Dr Kewell's office and thought I might as well try to see if they could help me. As I walked in I was greeted very warmly with smiles from everyone. I explained my problem with the screw and asked even though I was not a patient could they help me. They empatheticly told me that was no problem at all and they would be happy to replace it. The very nice young lady took them to the back and was actually gone quite a while which made me wonder what was going on. When she finally came back out I was met with a big smile as she told me she replaced the screw and saw the other screw was pretty worn out so she replaced it as well. Then proceeded to tell me since the nose pads were worn also she also replaced both of those as well as cleaned my glasses. Then went on to tell me she noticed a few scratches and decided to take the time to buff out the scratches. As I stood there shocked I asked that since I was not a patient I assumed there would be a charge. She smiled and simply said it was no problem at all and there was no charge and that she was happy to help. I was stunned. All this for a person who was not even a patient. Without question I set up an appointment on the door and cancelled my appointment at Dr Knapp's office. I have heard from many people Dr Knapp and his father are wonderful and amazing doctors. That may very well be true but I think Dr Knapp needs to take a good look at his staff.
