I came here at the end of May/beginning of June. I had a bump that didn’t look like hpv but I wanted to check with a professional first. The doctor at planned parenthood who checked right away said “yes that looks like hpv and you will have it for life.” I was confused, because I’ve read that you don’t have it for life but have it for a few years. My gut told me to double check with another doctor. I later saw two other doctors, one was a specialist in this area, and they both said it is not hpv! It’s just texture that can appear due to hormonal changes. I’m grateful I saw other doctors before treating it and thinking I had something for life due to the planned parenthood doctor being wrong and so definitive.
Also -I got the IUD removed here because it was causing hair loss. I asked to be prescribed a birth control pill that is anti-androgenic, which is important to avoid more hair loss. She made a prescription for me…I looked it up and found out the birth control pill she prescribed is not anti-androgenic and can cause hair loss!
The nurse here was great, and I’m grateful to have planned parenthood as an option. But please do not blindly trust what their doctors tell you! Do your own research after. Not only was she wrong about two important things, she was very cold and definitive.

Denied HRT care for identifying with my own gender. That flies in the face of their nonprofit mission that is almost entirely funded by taxpayers. It is also discrimination.

Fairly upset. Went to planned parenthood because I was in financial difficulty. They took one look at me and sent me to the ER. Still had to pay for the examination I got here and now I have to pay and even more expensive emergency room bill. The ER didn't even do any thing. They looked and said it was fine, decided some antibiotics and sent me away.
Edit - the ER sent me multiple bills. I went to you guys for advice and now I'm worse off than I was before. It would have been cheaper if I went to the ER originally.

Don't walk in here no matter what they tell you. You are NOT a priority. You will wait endlessly while ill and when you ask, they smurk as you're a second class citizen because you don't have an appointment. "We take walk-ins" is a FIRST RATE LIE. I'LL NEVER DONATE TO THEM AGAIN!
