- DMDiane mennenJun 9, 20241.0I had a cataract surgery last year. I have an allergy to a numbing medication so Dr Silone insisted on general anesthesia in a hospital. Obviously costing more. Didn’t suggest allergy testing. Performed the surgery but indicated it was tricky because I had a “floppy” iris. After the surgery I felt like I had something in my lower lid. It felt like a lump. I also felt like I was looking through a gold screen in that eye only when light would be on the side of the eye that had the cataract. I went back for multiple follow up exams and complained I was still experiencing those two issues. I was told that the eye was still healing. It’s been 10 months, I’ve seen another surgeon at OSU. I have what is called Floppy iris syndrome due to an abrasion on my iris from the surgery. I was never told I had this by Dr Silone. I was made to believe it would heal. Additional surgery and/or a contact lens will be required to remedy this. Some of these options are not covered by insurance. Not only is my eye permanently damaged it is going to cost hundreds maybe thousands to get it fixed. That is if it is repairable.
- SMSue MiskimenJun 12, 20224.0I have been attending Center for Sight since 2013. Initially, I came to this facility to find out why I had lost my peripheral vision. The doctor sent me for an MRI and referred me to a neurosurgeon. Now I come in for regular follow-ups. My visits usually consist of an exam, and photos of my optic nerve. I have always had a good experience at this facility, and would recommend it to anyone.
- SASabrina AndrewsFeb 20, 20221.0Beware , they charge you $150 extra on a STANDARD eye exam if you have brow ptosis and don't tell you upfront. They just send a bill in the mail. On top of that they will code it as cosmetic so your insurance won't cover it. I can only imagine what other eye conditions causes this ridiculous hidden overcharge.
