This is a group of "angels" and if you are looking for the BEST care for your loved ones, I would call Scott in a heartbeat - absolutely no hesitation! My brother had brain cancer and needed 24/7 care toward the end. Scott and his associates went "above and beyond" to an extent I have never seen before. They truly care about not only the patients but their families too. You can count on Home Care Assistance to be with you every step of the way!

I was referred to Home Care Assistance of Solon in June, 2014, when we needed someone immediately to take care of my then 96 year old Father, who had just got out of a nursing home and had many needs. I met Scott and Erica, our Home Health Worker, and things went much better than I expected. My Father did not want a caretaker, but he quickly warmed to Erica, and things went well for two years until my Father passed in March, 2016.
There were a few problems with some of the substitutes for Erica, but I could always talk to Scott about it, and he would rectify the situation. Scott also would visit my Father often, talk to him and bring him gifts. They were very supportive as a team, and we honestly would not have been able to keep Daddy home, if it were not for their excellent service. My Sister and I are eternally grateful to them for helping us out at a difficult time in our lives. They were very supportive during the two years and also after my Father passed.
I would wholeheartedly recommend their service for someone needing personal Home Health Care.
Frequently Asked Questions About TheKey - Senior Home Care
What is home care?
Home care is a supportive service provided by a professional caregiver in the home or community where a resident lives (in addition to facility supports) for peace of mind, companionship, and personal care. Caregivers can perform tasks such as running errands, preparing meals, assisting in the shower, fall prevention, and initiating brain stimulation activities to stimulate cognitive function.
How do I find the best caregiver for my loved one?
The best caregiver is an experienced professional who has the training and skills to support your loved one’s care needs. It’s also imporatnt to find a caregiver who’s extremely reliable, has back-up if necessary, and is a good fit in terms of personality and shared interests.
How much does home care cost?
Home care is typically billed by the hour, so the cost depends on the number of care hours per week and can vary slightly by region. Most families pay out-of-pocket for their care or use long-term care insurance.
How are you protecting your clients from COVID-19?
We follow infection mitigation best practices and safety protocols, informed by the CDC and local authorities, and provide appropriate PPE to our caregivers. The majority of our caregivers and Care Team members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Is a home care agency better than hiring a private caregiver?
If you value safety, security, and reliability, yes. A quality home care agency is insured and also manages the performance and scheduling of its caregivers, handles billing and payrol, and has back-up caregivers to fill in when needed. With a private hire caregiver, you’re responsible for setting up payroll and withholding taxes, caregiver vetting and background checks, and purchasing sufficient liability insurance to cover any accidents or injuries in the home.
Will my long-term care insurance cover home care?
It depends on your policy. If this is your first time using your benefits for home care, it’s best to contact your insurance provider to be sure that you have an active claim, confirm any applicable elimination period, and clarify the services covered under your policy. TheKey is an approved provider with most major Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance carriers-and we have a free service to help our clients navigate all aspects of the claims process.
