If I could give this place 0 stars… I would. 1. The portioning is insane here. You can have the same snack/ lunch three days in a row and one day its perfect, the next day you need to add and so on… no consistency! 2. When they don’t know what to do with you… they just send you to res. 3. My dietician I had here was horrible to me and screamed at me in front of everyone. She would constantly change her mind about if my portions were okay and make me add even though I got the “okay”. There was absolutely no meeting in the middle. It was her way or the highway. All she cared about was weight. I begged to switch providers but they refused. 4. My therapist was useless… she gave up on me after my first admission. She could not see me past my first admission. She would accuse me of behaviors I never did. Our sessions were just threatening me with residential. She would try to diagnose me with things I never struggled with before. She couldn’t see the changes I had made when I came back from res. All she saw was me at my lowest and couldn’t take in the fact that I was doing better. 5. There were weeks where we had no snacks and it was an ed treatment center. Anyways, I could go on and on but I will stop. The one good thing was, they were very good with my allergies. The only Monte Nido that never messed up my allergies.

Hopelessly inexperienced and self-absorbed staff. I personally witnessed behavior that was miles outside the bounds of professionalism. The program really should divide adolescents & adults. The one size fits all model and "read from a corporate-written workbook" was not helpful. I cannot stress this enough—the location/facility is abhorrent. No access to fresh air/temperature always too high or low, and weird dining space—no sense of community with a 20 foot rectangular table. You can't leave the building, or go on outings. The nurse was rude, and frankly, negligent. MonteNido merged with some other companies, and the transition was rocky; when I moved from residential to PHP to IOP there were so many hiccups & communication gaps. IoP had fundamentally different expectations & philosophies—which is not necessarily a problem—but that MUST be communicated to patients so they can make informed decisions. The cherry on top? I had to request my records three different times before they finally got sent.

My daughter attended PHP here earlier this year for about 10 weeks, and it was a shocking disappointment after the excellent experience we had with Clementine Montenido in Briarcliff Manor. This was largely due to my daughter’s therapist Maria, who also served as our “family therapist.” This woman did everything she could to pit my daughter against me and would tell her privately that I was “mean and unreasonable.” She obviously disliked me and would not answer my messages and phone calls. She did absolutely nothing to prepare my daughter to re-enter school or for discharge into the real world- seriously nothing. No liaising with her school, no emotional prep work. I think Maria would have had my daughter there for months on end, just sucking our insurance dry, had my daughter and I not insisted on discharge after she had already been there for 10 weeks. It’s also not great for minors to be mixing with adults, sitting there listening to their adult problems. They were also not accommodating for the temperaments of children or those with ADHD, so I don’t understand why they take them on. Oh yeah- insurance money, duh! Ultimately, my daughter met wonderful friends here and had a wonderful dietitian- Donna. They were the saving grace of this place and why I am giving it any stars at all. Donna deserves recognition for her diligence with my daughter and honestly, she deserves a better place to work.

Monte Nido of Westchester is absolutely not a place I would recommend for anyone seeking help with an eating disorder. Two staff members, Kim and Maria S., are particularly problematic. They are incredibly untrustworthy, lacking any compassion or empathy towards their patients, who they insist on calling “clients.” Their quick judgments and belittling comments only serve to heighten anxiety, making you feel unworthy and undeserving of care. It’s no surprise that they have a revolving door of patients. If you’re looking for meaningful, supportive help, this is NOT the place to go.

i first want to mention the unprofessionalism of staffs. very immature. only crying about the clients, claiming that he couldn’t trust any of us, listed favorite and ultimately sabotaged my recovery. many of their groups were off topic and repetitive. i felt that this place worsened my anxiety and didn’t feel welcoming since my admission. i also cannot forget the countless of silly mistakes that were made and the lack of catering to the clients. they think everything is a behavior (for ex: saying i afraid to eat lunch in school but it was actually that my lunch period was 10:30 in the morning so i would have my am snack). they don’t show an accurate depiction of recovery and honesty cause much more a focus on food than i did in my ED
