It's unfortunate other people did not have the experience I had at Monte Nido in Victor. It literally saved my life. I'm an older woman, who spent time in residential care with clients 20-30 years old that were kind, understanding and supportive. The staff (RCs, admin, chef, nurses, therapists, doctor, NP, nutritionist) were amazing, caring and extremely supportive when I was there. Especially when I was not well. I agree some of the rules are different than normal life (increased food amounts, strict rules, and a very structured day with breaks included) but they know what they're doing. I took advantage of everything they offered to help me. I am grateful they were there to truly get me through my Eating Disorder and medically get my system healthy again!

Punitive attitude towards residents. Very rigid and unclear procedures that are actively detrimental to people who stay here. Extremely unprofessional as a mental health rehab facility. Assigned therapists that cannot be changed and can be very rude, unprofessional, and throw tantrums and storm out during therapy. This place treats you like you are in a drug rehab rather than a mental health rehab.

I had the unfortunate experience of being at Monte Nido. Do not do it. There was only one RC who really cared and treated me and the other patients like actual humans and understood what we were going through. The manager came out multiple times and kissed me on the cheek which was extremely uncomfortable, not to mention it happened multiple times. None of these instances had any consent or permission. This place is extremely toxic and even the therapists have a habit of belittling us. During my time there one of the therapist left who was someone I think actually cared. The other therapists did not help. The nurses and one RC who the manager bragged about getting fired were the only ones who cared. Please be aware of these issues, and if you have other treatment options, pursue those instead.

If I had a loved one seeking residential treatment, I would refer them here. I can’t speak highly enough about how wonderful the staff were. The property is beautiful, it creates a homey environment for one to be able to focus on recovery and feel less like a patient in a hospital. The food is prepared by an on-site chef for the majority of the meals and snacks. I liked their treatment model much more than some others and I don’t know if I would have been able to make the progress I did had it not been for doing it here. Literally everyone, from the program and clinical directors, therapists, and dietitian, to the nurses, RC’s, and even the chef encouraged me along in my recovery every single day. If any of the staff end up reading this review, thank you for everything, I’m forever grateful 💜
