This is why everybody hates Chris. Why did they move to Rye NY? I hope it wasn't because it is close to where the powers that be may reside? Seems to be a convenience commute 🤔..not for the donors though.

I've been a long time donor (almost soley whole blood) to the divisions of NYBCe for years; the last ~18 months has been like watching a dumpster catch fire and burn.
NYBCe's donor-facing IT systems are a disgrace: the donor websites have perpetually broken functionality for years they keep claiming will be fixed shortly, donors haven't been able to fill out the donor questionaire in the 24 hours before your appointment for over a year, and the functionality they do have was clearly sloppily pasted into the existing site framework without removing the existing broken functionality, clearly with no design, plan, or skill.
Their new donor systems implemented in the last couple weeks cannot accurately calculate when your next eligible donation is for whole blood, resulting in the on-site systems declaring you ineligible and the local staff unable to override, all while the central (1-877) scheduling continues to book appointments and send you to donation centers that refuse to accept you.
Donating blood is not a joke or a game to the majority of us donors; we're not retirees bored out of our minds looking for someone to talk to.
We donors balance full time jobs and donate on your schedule, not ours, so when your dumpster fire systems send us away after we juggled our full time jobs and moved heaven and earth to carve out the time needed to donate, it 100% feels like a giant "screw you". You may be non-profit, but you act like the crappiest capitalistic conglomerate on wall street. Lumon Industries has nothing on you.
In the last 2 years your money saving plan by outsourcing donor appointment confirmation phone calls has gone from disinterested gig workers sitting on their couch making desultory phone calls to straight up AI-esque phone calls that talk over you no matter what you say.
For the amount of money the leadership of NYBCe is paid, basic, functioning IT systems are expected. Integrated computer systems are expected. Efficient appointment confirmation resources are expected.
I don't blame the web developers, or IT, or call center people, or donation staff; I blame upper management. NYCBe's C-suite is paid way, way above market value for the worst leadership I have ever seen.
I'm done donating until I see new leadership in place.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience donating blood at the New York Blood Center in Rye, NY! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and professional. The entire process was seamless and efficient – everyone worked together to ensure a comfortable and quick donation. The facility itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained. It's clear they prioritize both donor comfort and safety. Knowing my donation will help save lives, combined with such a positive experience, makes me want to come back again and again. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking to make a vital difference!

Brand new, efficient and well set up. Checkin staff and medical personnel is great (many from Elmsford). sign is via tablet; mine was faulty and nurses were really helpful.
Parking is easier than it seems; it’s not obvious that red lined spaces are meant for donors. Be prepared for the “hard sell” to book your next donation before leaving!
