Samuel Shatkin Jr., MD is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and performs all aspects of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He specializes in creating a customized approach to looking your best, which may include using multiple modalities which Dr. Shatkin refers to as 'Combination Rejuvenation'. He has been in private practice in this field since completing his Plastic Surgery Training in 1989. - NNnflong15 days ago1.0This is a review that ive been contemplating for some time. Approximately two years ago i scheduled with and visited Dr. Shatkin for a bullhorn lip lift.... After waiting over 30 min past my appointment time i was FINALLY called back to be seen... Dr Shatkin listened to my request and then quickly "examined" me for about 10 SECONDS. He then looked me in the face and told me that the procedure was "EXACTLY what you need"...... THEN told me HE would NOT do it. His exact words were " i dont want you to leave here with a different issue than you came in with." This response told me that the good doctor wasn't so convinced of his own skills. He mentioned scaring to me ALMOST IMMEDIATELY even though he looked at formerly healed sites on my body and stated that i didnt seem to have any healing issues. I am African American and have light brown skin. If the doctor is UNCOMFORTABLE with performing on melenated skin types JUST SAY THAT!! I wasted my time going to a consultation AND was still up sold fillers that i dont even need.

Even with the swelling, my results already look amazing and far beyond what I expected this early on. Seeing my new body in the mirror actually brought me to tears. From the very beginning, Dr. Shatkin and his entire staff were incredibly comforting, supportive, and professional. I never felt rushed, and every question I had was answered thoroughly. Even on the day of surgery, he was so kind and reassuring while I was on the table, which made such a difference in calming my nerves. His attention to detail and the level of care he provides both before and after the procedure are outstanding. Also, his pricing is fair, his quality of his work speaks for itself, and I’m already planning to return for future procedures. I’m truly so happy I chose him.
