  John has been my therapist for about 6 months, and the basic tools he's given me has helped me to be a more functional and happier human being. My traumas no longer completely rule my life as they had for almost 20 years. I'll give an example. I was borderline agoraphobic for almost 7 years. When I had no choice but to leave, I would get stuck in a pattern of obsessively checking everything 10+ times and get so anxious that I would make myself physically ill. After 6 months, not only can I leave the house, but do it with only mild anxiety and only check everything once and just go. This means I can do things I enjoy. I still have a lot of work to do, but I know he will help get me through the next goals and the bumps in the road that make me want to give up. Yes, he is blunt and will tell you what you need to hear, that is part of what you are paying him to do. But he has never been unkind or treated me with anything less than empathy and respect. He can also be really funny, which helps during the hardest parts. He also explains why our minds process traumas the way they do, and how the tools work to retrain your brain. As far as cancellations, well yeah. He has a business to run and the time that you canceled could've been used to help another patient. It's disrespectful. But, if something serious comes up and you have to cancel very rarely, he is cool about it. As long as you do the work, it is life changing. It's not easy, but if you stick to it, it will change your life. I highly recommend him to anyone, we all need help sometimes.

  John is the best counselor Ive ever had. He’s straight to the point never tells you what you wanna hear but rather what you need to hear. He’s very knowledgeable in his field and really has encouraged and motivated me to build and sustain confidence to be able to cope with my personal struggles. Highly recommend!

  I had been to a different counselor for a personal trauma and one that has effected my family but ultimately stopped going. I was referred to John and was able to work through the PTSD with his sessions and some dedication. I reccomend his services to anyone looking.
