My husband and I had eye exams at the Newington NH store. Receptionist in Drs office rude, and unwelcoming. Dr. Was professional and knowledgeable. The technician that fitted my glasses was unprofessional, sharing personal information, and not focused on fitting me. We went to pick up our glasses when notified. They presented me with the wrong prescription!! My husband's glasses were not the ones he ordered. A quick apology was offered...no offer to compensate us, upgrade our frames or a discount. In a word an overall poor experience. Poor customer service. Very disappointing. Yvette Martin

My husband I worked with Ron today and he was just amazing. Skilled, efficient, funny. My ins was giving us issue (as I knew it would) and he was very patient and professional. My ins was an issue so I had to go home and make some calls. I decided to call Ron back to verify I had properly resolved the ins issues before driving back to newington. I spoke with him and again, excellent customer service. We confirmed we were good and I made an appt to go back on Monday. He knows his stuff, he can communicate and do his job efficiently. We had nice conversation. Just so rare in retail today! So Ron, thanks for a great experience.

I’ve been coming to this LensCrafters in Portsmouth, NH for over 10 years, but things have really gone downhill. The manager was standing at the counter, bossing around employees right in front of customers instead of helping the people waiting in line. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. This place used to have amazing staff who actually cared — looks like all the good ones have left. Really disappointing to see how much the service has declined lately.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
