Being completely honest, this is my first experience on the other side of the fence when it comes to the recovery process. For the better part of six years, I've done work in the community serving those battling addiction and homelessness, so I'm thankful for the experience of going through LiveFree's PHP program, and now at this 70 Kelley Street location. A little odd for me, seeing as I worked for the company at their Detox Center in Cheshire County, but I absolutely have to give it five stars. The staff are amazing. Angela's gone above and beyond to give me information on CRSW courses (which I've been trying to do for a couple years now and was an original goal of mine prior to relapse), Fred has been both relatable and just an all around guru with his wisdom and humor, Devante has made everyone feel welcome and cracks everyone up, Kim (an intern) does everything she can to help anyone who needs it, and Jamie (though I haven't had much one-on-one time with her) works so hard to keep everything in order. All around, the staff brings a much needed human aspect to the field and having worked in similar environments for some time, I know how hard it can be. Despite the challenges that arise with those battling their addictions and fighting for their recovery, all of them handle it with grace and understanding. The groups they hold are always exactly what I need to hear, and though the self reflection can cause me some frustration, ultimately I'm happy to have them on my side on my healing and recovery journey. They do hold you accountable, so for those serious about being sober and living a life free from addiction, this is the best place to go. All this isn't even mentioning the house itself! The place is massive, the building is beautiful, and the location is perfect! God bless all the staff at LiveFree for what you do.
