  I was browsing the store with my caucasian friend. He and his family have been doing business with this company for 16 plus years. He was attempting to purchase new frames. He took his personal glasses off and put them in his pocket while trying on new frames. Shortly after, an employee, Dr Joseph Townley (also a Caucasian), approaches me. He hits me on the shoulder and accuses me of stealing. He told me someone advised him that I had pocketed frames. My friend pulled his personal frames out of his pocket and, in shock, clarified with the employee that the frames he pocketed were his own. If I weren't so flabbergasted by the whole situation, I would have called the cops on him and had him arrested for assault and battery. If it were possible, I'd leave a zero-star rating. They will apparently only be professional with you when you are paying them. This event happened on December 12th at 5:15 pm. This establishment is racist to put it plainly and simply. If you're a person of color or not, I would not patronize this establishment. Hopefully, I can go back tomorrow and see if the security cameras were recording. I would love a copy of the footage. I know that this will be a long shot as they will protect him and his misconduct. This is not acceptable. They didn't apologize to me either. At this point, it wouldn't be sincere.

  Been going here for a few years, never had issues until this past annual exam. First the front desk staff is rude and ask for my insurance card twice in two weeks, which is not major but an annoyance. Never needed glasses but age catches us all so the doc gave me a script and I purchase the Meta's from Lenscrafters. My script is not supposed to be that strong anyway but my right eye is stronger than the left but when I got these glasses, the right eye was way too strong and was straining to wear them all day, the left was worse than before. I thought what if I put these on upside down...it was perfect...call Lenscrafters and they confirm the prescription is correct. Go back here, they read the lenses and give me another mini exam. I specifically tell the doc if I switch these around they are fine. She says no I will give you a new script. By this time I'm annoyed of having to go back twice. I take the new script back to lenscrafters to avoid a third visit (since I felt this place wasn't listening to me) I decide to pay out of pocket for them to give me a 2nd opinion. The doctor confirmed the script was way off and definitely switched. Had them fill the new script, just got the new lenses and they are perfect. Since they can't get a prescription right I'm not gonna waste my time going back here.

  I only came here after first going to the urgent care upstairs, who sent me to Bergan ED, who's attending said, and I quote, "WHY DID THEY SEND YOU HERE" like I was covered in snakes. (long story) I came in as a brand new patient, with a left eye that was matted closed, in pain and ya girl, TERRIFIED.. Dr Dole and the amazing staff down to the ladies at the desks who check you out (thanks to her I was able to open my eye for a bit) They made me, walking in, feeling a hot mess, scared, out of place, I had just moved, couldn't see, open my eye, and they made me feel safe, welcomed, and as soon as they could, relieved the pain.. Sorry for the long post but they are truly amazing. Unfortunately my vision insurance isn't accepted here, its my medical dealing with this issue, but if you are looking for a new Optometrist, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! I truly wish I could give them 10 stars. I know they are just doing what they are supposed to do, but when I tell you I went from a one eyed ogre to a normal person again with a week, I cannot thank Dr Dole and rhe staff enough. Truly a blessing. Definitely will always recommend!

  Very compassionate and caring staff. Nice facility with comfortable waiting areas. Knowledgeable doctors and convenient appointments! Highly recommended.
