- DPDezma PerezDec 18, 20251.0I went here last night because it was recommended by a couple people and supposed to have the best deals. After doing 7 different tests, I left with no new prescription and was told nothing besides go to the ER. The staff made me feel so uncomfortable and I felt like they were just trying to rush me out of there. I am a -8 vision and it felt like they didn’t believe me when I kept telling them I couldn’t read hardly any of the letters. Today, I went to America’s Best and was diagnosed with cataracts and was told I will need surgery but that going to the ER would’ve been nothing but an extra bill because they do not have optometrists on call at the ER especially at night. The only good thing about this place was the man named Shawn. He was incredibly friendly both times I spoke to him on the phone and in person.

After my exam, I was told to pick out some frames so I asked if my insurance covered any of them. She asked me for my insurance so I gave her my card, then she tells me they are not in network with my insurance company. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have told me from the very beginning, because I cannot afford to pay out of pocket for a visit. I have worked in multiple different settings where I have had to verify insurance for patients and I have never let a patient get seen without letting them know that we weren’t in network with their insurance carrier or at least giving them an estimated out of pocket cost beforehand. The staff was nice, but it was very frustrating having to spend almost $200 when I should have first been told if they accepted my insurance.
