My wife and I toured this place recently. To our surprise it was dark and dirty. The rooms are small with bare nessities. We were lied to about the price over the phone by the sales director. After the tour we were informed of the actual prices that were way above what we were told. It's clearly about the money and not the patient. If we could give zero stars we would.

My family members and I had a meeting last month with the new director and lead clinical RN about my mom’s medical care, hygiene, cleanliness of room and bathroom, laundry and bedding. We visit unannounced 2-3 times per week. Our concerns continue.

My wife and I had the pleasure to be part of the Brookdale community when recently she spent two-weeks in their care, which provided me a period of respite and chance to travel and visit with family and friends. Being a long-term, primary caregiver, I was extremely nervous about leaving her in a nursing facility. From the first contact, Brookdale's staff couldn't have been more personable, caring, and patient as we worked out the details. Their memory facility was a clean, cozy, active, and happy place. Throughout my wife's stay, Brookdale's family atmosphere engaged and enveloped my wife to the point where she was comfortable, content, and functioning at a high level. This allowed me to enjoy my time on my own. Of course, while giving us a break, absence made our hearts' grow fonder; now reunited, my wife and I are very much refreshed and enjoying each other's company. Because of the positive experience at Brookdale, periodically we plan to return for respite care in the years to come. Thank you, Brookdale staff.

I transferred my mom from an assisted living facility in NY to Clare Bridge. I had nothing but problems from day one. First, even though I wrote her name on her clothing and towels, they were constantly getting mixed up with other residents. I would even find male clothing in my mother's closet. Secondly, my mom had always worn a ruby ring that she never took off, it suddenly disappeared off of her finger. She is not audible so was not able to tell me who took it. Management showed little concern. When I had spoken to another caregiver, he also had the same problem. His wife's wedding ring disappeared so he purchased another one. It disappeared also. I witnessed patients falling on the floor, and had to find a staff member to pick them up too many times, this was usually on weekends when management was off. The last straw occurred after I took my mom for a dental appointment and discovered that she had sores in her mouth so bad that the bone in her mouth was exposed. She was in so much discomfort she stopped eating. What was Clare Bridges solution, to put her on a medication that made her feel hungry, thus forcing her to eat. Dentist told me that Clare Bridge was doing an extremely bad job of brushing her teeth if they were brushing them at all. In addition, after the first year there, monthly charges increased over $500 per month. I had been searching for 6 months to find a better place and when I did, good bye Clare Bridge!!!! I am extremely happy with the care she is receiving at her new location!!! By the way, Clare Bridge was recommended by the organization "A Place for Mom". What a joke!!! Be careful who you listen to.
