I woke up the day before with my right eye red at the bottom and a white covering over the lower part of my pupil. Over the counter medications for the first 24 hours did not work and my eye was getting worse by the minute. Having an auto immune disease and taking meds that can have an effect on my eyes, I called my ophthalmologist at My Eye Doctor. They reported they could not help me at any of their locations, were only seeing patients who needed eye tests through the end of the year and into January. They told me to go to an outside eye clinic in Apex or Duke. I reminded their team that I am a patient who has an auto immune disease and was told if I had any issues to call right away. They still would not schedule me. Even after being a patient there for 10 years. I then remembered Vision Source right down the road from me and called them. Their team was excellent and got me in within a few hours at 12:15. I saw Dr. Eck who did a wonderful job explaining to me what was going on with my eye, that people who have an auto immune disease sometimes have this happen, and that I would need a prescription. Within the hour, I had a prescription and was back to work. Being an owner of a medical clinic, I have a fine appreciation for excellent patient care and this clinic has it! Needless to say, I am transferring my eye care to Vision Source where the patient is more important than eye glass sales. Thanks Team and see you in the New Year!
