I arrived with severe left-sided chest and back pain, along with difficulty breathing due to asthma. I was bent forward because that position was the only way I could breathe comfortably. When the nurse attempted to take my blood pressure immediately, I explained that I was not ready yet because I was struggling to breathe. She ignored this and physically pushed me upright, which instantly worsened my pain and made it harder for me to breathe. This caused me to panic because I genuinely felt like I could not get air.Even though I had already explained my symptoms to the receptionist and they were documented, the staff repeatedly questioned me instead of assisting me or giving me time to stabilize my breathing. Instead of calming the situation or offering support, the staff escalated things, called police into the room, and told me I needed to leave. I was still in active pain and respiratory distress, yet I was not evaluated, treated, or stabilized before being dismissed. This experience was unsafe, unprofessional, and deeply distressing. No patient having trouble breathing should be handled in this manner.

My Muslim nephew went in with a serious attack from sickle cell, he had the most racist male nurse who said he was spanish. Refused him a bite to eat after giving him medicine that you need food on your stomach for. Then kicked him off the property in 30 something degree weather saying they weren't some resturant. Ide give negative stars of I could

This hospital is probably the worst hospital I’ve been to for my care!!! A sickle cell anemia patient to be exact! They brush off our pain, treat us like we just drug addicts coming to get meds ! They have us sitting in pain with nobody coming to see us . Nb to check on us. Nothing given to temporary treat the crisis. Not even a Tylenol. We can be calling and calling for help . It’s like they’re ignoring us. Tryna tell us that we’re not in pain Because it’s “chronic pain “ when in reality a crisis is a crisis. This pain hurts . You can literally die from having a crisis your body can’t fight ! It’s like your experiencing almost death with how they take care off us. They talk to EVERYONE so rudely! Even the elderly that come in! No respect for nobody that comes in that department! No sympathy lik they cold hearted doctors and nurses. ESPECIALLY THE DOCTORS! The sickle cell team ain no better! Yea just awful all around. No star ratings actually. Like who is head of that department!?? Need a better system. Immediately. Awful. Just awful

Very friendly staff, especially the nurses, nurse techs, custodians, and cafeteria workers.
Unfortunately, the doctors completely disappeared for over 24 hours without any type of communication and food service forgot to feed my mom lunch and dinner. No wonder this place has such a low rating.

Horrible nursing staff on the 6th Floor (East Wing). My daughter was admitted recently for pneumonia. The evening nurse initially walked in, didn't speak to either of us, or introduce herself. The second time she walked in, she was just plain rude. I had to ask her name. I even had to call her out on her rudeness. I can’t believe a hospital would tolerate such lack of patient care and professionalism. I echo the comments made by the other reviewers regarding the lack empathetic and compassionate patient care at Wesley Long. It really is unacceptable. I plan to write letters to the administrators of this facility. I, too, will be taking my daughter to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem for future care.
