Very unprofessional! I can’t see another doctor for a 2nd opinion?? Wow that’s the absolute craziest thing I’ve heard!

Originally, I found this practice because it was the name printed on an insurance card that was sent to me. When I attempted to make a new patient appointment, I was informed that just because “the card had the name of the doctor printed on it, that doesn’t mean this is your doctor”, by the receptionist. But I scheduled the appointment anyway because I had been without a daily medication for months, and wanted to get back in better health. On my first visit, the Labcorp employee loudly discussed my previous lab visits while there was another patient sitting in the in the lab. She also kept instructing me to put my personal belongings on top of the biohazard box. She was so rude to me that the other patient in the room asked/commented to me, “Why is she being so rude?!”. On another office visit (a medicine check) the NP offered to call the internal pharmacy to make sure that my medication was available because that particular medication had a known shortage and was difficult to find. I told the NP that I would be happy to call around to different pharmacies to try and find it. I walked out of the room and overhead a nurse (I assumed because she was dressed in scrubs) discussing both my medication and my visit with the NP in front of other staff members and patients in a derogatory manner. I then asked that nurse directly if she was discussing me. The nurse then pulled me physically aside in the entryway hallway (in the way of both patients coming in and checking out) to tell me that the NP was too busy to make phone calls to pharmacies and that I should have never told her to do so. Which in fact, did not happen. I scheduled another routine visit. After driving an hour and a half from my work territory for the visit, I was informed that it was canceled. I was also informed by the receptionist that someone from the office had called to let me know that the appointment had been canceled because it had been notated in my chart. I then showed her my missed calls from my call log for that day. A call had been placed by the office, but a message had not been left. Today (September 22) I received a missed call without a voice mail. I returned the call (thinking it was an appointment reminder call) and was informed that my lab results from another doctor’s office were “normal”. I was curious and asked if it usually happened that I would receive a call from the GP’s office about results from another doctor. She then said that the results that were actually flagged for a call today were from my annual physical from July, and that she had “no idea” why they were flagged for today. I then asked what the lab results were from my physical and she rebuked me by staying, “I told you they were normal”. I reminded her that she had actually told me that the results from the other doctor were normal. This is not a well managed office; by any stretch of the imagination. I do believe that my NP actually does care about my health because my direct interactions with the NP are generally productive. BUT I would definitely not recommend this office.

Put in a request for a refil for my husband that needed doctor approval the end of last week. Here it is Tuesday evening and pharmacy still waiting for authorization.. I had to literally go by the facility to get problem resolved..this is just NOT acceptable!! Prescription ran out today...messages were left for doctor and her nurse...no response.
