Do not go here if you want ANY customer service after your appointment. Once you’re gone and have paid, you mean nothing. These people charged me for a foot brace for plantar fasciitis that I had to pay for AT MY TIME OF VISIT. ($88.08) Months later we received a bill in the mail for almost $100.00 more! They had billed my insurance ON TOP of already being paid! My insurance paid them and they wanted the balance! Here’s the topper: I found the brace on Amazon for $22.00! They were trying to make over $200.00! I have called and called to find out what’s going on and no one at any of the offices will pick up. Sent an email with no reply. We now have to drive 30 miles to go and speak with someone. This place is a joke. Also: got a shot for plantar fasciitis that did ZERO. I called and asked why and they said to ice it. Never heard another word. I WOULD NEVER EVER GO HERE AGAIN.

To the Cone Health Patient Experience Team, I am writing to report an encounter that stands in complete opposition to the message you place front and center on your website: “Changing health care for the better. Every day.” Today, I called to schedule an appointment for pain and swelling in my foot. I expected professionalism, guidance, or at the very least basic courtesy. Instead, the moment I mentioned I did not have health insurance, the tone of the interaction changed immediately. The representative, Shelly, became short, dismissive, and made me feel as though seeking care without insurance was a personal inconvenience to her. When I asked for clarification about Cone Health’s policy so I could understand my options, she repeated the same line over and over without explanation. When I challenged the lack of clarity and asked where I could view the policy myself, she hung up on me. I want to be very clear: hanging up on a patient, especially one seeking care for pain and swelling, is not “changing health care for the better.” It is the opposite. Your homepage also promotes “Wellness Matters,” encouraging patients to take charge of their health through trustworthy information and resources. That message does not align with being dismissed, spoken to with irritation, and ultimately disconnected when simply trying to understand how to access care. As someone who serves this community and contributes to its well-being, I should not be met with this level of insensitivity. Patients should not have to brace themselves for disrespect in order to receive medical help. Sensitivity was required in that moment, and instead I received conduct that was insulting and unnecessary. My requests are straightforward: A full review of this encounter. Clear, accessible information regarding Cone Health’s policy for uninsured patients. Assurance that staff will receive appropriate training to prevent any patient from being treated this way again. I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for the standard of care that Cone Health publicly claims to uphold. What happened today was unacceptable, and I expect a response.

My husband had a doctor's appointment with Dr. Dia D. McCaughan this morning. When we asked, how she was doing today. She said," I'm mad because my favorite team lost this weekend ". We did not respond instead focused on sharing the serious concerns about my husband foot. Also, I stood beside my husband to support him and asked reasonable questions about his care, she abruptly told me-in a very aggressive tone-to sit down because she "does not like people looking over her shoulders. " I was not near her supplies or interfering in any way; I was simply advocating for my husband. Before I could even finish explaining my concern about getting an X-ray first, Dr. McCaughan slammed down the bottle of solution and the gauze she wad using, left the gauze soaked in solution setting on his toe, and walked out of the room without saying a single word. We were left shocked, confused, and unsure whether the appointment was over. The nurse we saw prior to her arrival was kind and professional, which made the doctor's behavior even more disappointing. Dr. McCaughan's conduct lacked basic bedside manners, professionalism, and compassion. My husband and I left the appointment feeling shaken, worried, and completely unassisted. Based on this experience, we do not feel safe or comfortable returning to this provider for future care.

The experience with Dr. Rebecca Sikora for my hammertoe correction surgery was incredible. Everything went perfectly, from the first consultation through recovery, with minimal pain. My surgery was a complete success! Dr. Sikora is very friendly, yet professional, and really cares for her patients. Communication was clear and thorough, with all questions answered with ease. I highly recommend Dr. Sikora with confidence.
