  I can SEE!!! 😆. After years of wearing glasses and prescription sunglasses I can finally wake up and see. No more squinting or cleaning off my glasses. I’m amazed!!! The whole team is amazing and so sweet! Dr. Strange is the BEST of the Best. He talked me through the whole procedure and let me know what to expect. Dr. Machat was so precise and calmed my anxiety during the procedure. 10/10 recommend. I will say the burning 30 min after surgery was intense. Like intense!!! So go lay down quickly and rest in a dark room with some guided meditations, audio book or calming music and a heated blanket. I couldn’t sleep due to the burning pain. I just rested and tried to relax. After 3-4 hours the burning was gone and I was able to eat dinner and sleep through the night. It’s all worth it. Do it 😆.

  Surgery was quick and easy and painless. The staff there is courteous and friendly made the experience great! I will say that if you can’t fall asleep immediately afterwards, you’re in for about 4 hours of the worst eye burning pain you’ve ever experienced. However, going from extremely poor vision to being able to see unassisted is worth it! I recommend better meds to knock out after the procedure.

  From start to finish the staff was wonderfull. Everything was explained fully and any questions were answered. The actual surgery was nice and smooth. Back up and driving the next morning this time without contacts or glasses. Would definitely come back if I had another set of eyes but will definitely recommend anyone to have their lasik done here . Thank you Dr. Machat.

  Overall I had a great experience here. They took great care of me and the procedure went by super quickly and smoothly. My only feedback would be 1) I was not given instructions for before the procedure and would not have known to not wear my contacts 2-4 days prior if I had not reached out to them 2) I was given two pieces of paper with post op instructions but they said two different things regarding timing between drops which was confusing. So I would recommend clearer pre and post op instructions. Other than that, I had a really great experience and would definitely recommend them.

  For years I considered LASIK, but couldn't get myself to commit to the cost and "scheduling" constraints that required weeks of no glasses and pre-assessment appointments, etc. When I committed to the process, I was met with much of the same, until a neighbor of mine told me to check in with The LASIK Vision Institute in SouthPark. From the moment I called and every step in between, my expectations were exceeded. It was easy to get scheduled. The pre-assessment appointment was smooth and enjoyable. The tech was great, and Dr Strange was personable, informative, reassuring and friendly. The day of the surgery, I was nervous as most would be, but the team was great and Dr Machat was tremendous. I cannot emphasize how comfortable I felt during the procedure, as he and his assistants talked me through the entire thing. When I walked out of that building post surgery, I was beaming. There was no guessing to the recovery process. They laid everything out for me. And in my post visit with Dr Strange, I felt even better. 3 weeks later and my only regret is that I did not go through with this sooner, but then again, I'd only lived in Charlotte for 2 years, and not sure any experience elsewhere would've been as great. I cannot recommend Dr Machat and his team enough. If you've been thinking about it, stop, and just give them a call. You won't regret it.
