As a nurse, I see both sides of the medical field, where I am either a number/checklist or a patient who is a living a breathing human being. I have never had the type of mental health assessment Dave provided in my 20 plus years of seeing a specialist. Instead of checking off a box of whatever medication is usually used for "insert diagnosis" he took the time to ask questions related to how I felt, what types of triggers or history have I experienced and so on. He asked specific questions and at the end of the session I realized the "why" behind it. Dave is going to prescribe you the medication you need based on what your brain is telling him. He uses his background in his industry and extensive experience to truly listen to you and then come to the conclusion of what medication(s) would be ideal to try based on what you are experiencing as a whole human with their own set of needs. It is rare to have a provider of his reputation who is not only busy (I was referred to him by a friend and realized another friend saw him as well) that takes the time to focus on me as a unique individual human versus a diagnosis that gets a cookie cutter approach. I was in a point in my life when I saw Dave that I was not looking forward to starting my mental health journey again as in the past it has been so stressful. Dave is clearly an expert in his field, his reputation of being a guru of medication is spot on. I appreciate his down to earth bedside manner but also his education related to what he is targeting when prescribing medication. I hope he never leaves this area as he is the best there is hands down. I am a mother and wife as well so have always appreciated other people, friends or colleagues, sharing when they have found a really great provider. That type of information is invaluable as it saves time and money having to do the research and then the trial (and sometimes error) when looking for a medical provider. I feel I am doing my part by sharing my experience for other women or men or parents out there. He's truly the best.
