  The in-patient care pre-, during and post-surgery was exemplary. However, the Emergency Room, especially the front desk, did nothing to alleviate the pain from my ruptured appendix nor to move me forward in their queue. The form from Urgent Care, specifying likely appendicitis, was ignored. I waited for hours and hours in great pain. It was an awful experience.

  This emergency department is absolutely horrible. The people who call themselves doctors and nurses should be ashamed of themselves. A family member of mine was taken by ambulance last night to the ER , the nurse who was dealing with her threw the blood that they had drawn in the trash can by accident , then proceeded to DIG IT OUT of the trash and send it off. The same nurse stuck her so many times trying to get a spot for an IV , she blew out multiple veins. Got blood all over her while trying to find a vein , didn’t even bother to wipe it off. The nurse was huffing and puffing anytime she had to do anything. Family member found out she has a broken fibula and broken foot bone. They sent her home without a cast or boot , only crutches. The doctor on call said he’d call her in a few pain pills for the pain but didn’t. Told her to take Tylenol. On a separate occasion I myself went to the ER for concerning bleeding and pain, while waiting on a CT scan I asked for Tylenol.. well the nurse dropped my Tylenol on the dirty ER floor , then proceeded to hand it to me to take instead of just getting new Tylenol. The ER department definitely does not speak for the rest of the hospital because I have had amazing experiences in the labor and delivery department. The way that they treat patients is ridiculous. People who work in healthcare should CARE about their job.

  Well at first everything was fine until Saturday at night I was asked too press a button on a machine when the reset button started ringing i guess nurse was tired of running back and forth so he asked me would I mine stopping the reset button so I said ok well when I realized my finger was not that strong I continued too play games on my phone and watch TV nurse Alex came running out like he's mad and started yelling at me i said hold up I don't work for your or this company then he kicked the little machine and stormed out the next morning nobody would come out like usual too un hook me to that machine to wash my face or anything what's with your crew very very bad

  I have completed 9 sessions with Shin-Ying Yeung in Rehabilitation Services and can’t say enough about my experience. From the from the front office to my actual PT, I encountered the kindest and most helpful people. Shin-Ying taught me so much about my own body and has given me great exercises and resources to help me to continue to improve. Highly recommend her and this entire department. Great experience.

  I would rate my stay at Cone Health Alamance Regional Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services about a 6.5/7. I want to give a special shout-out to my provider, Crystal, and the amazing techs—Eric, Michael, Tosha, Dee, Cara—among others. My social worker, Allantra, was also amazing and advocated for me throughout my stay. Also, the recreational therapist, Amber, was amazing as well. They truly went above and beyond to make me feel cared for and supported. However, there were a couple of incidents that made me uncomfortable. One night, an RN appeared frustrated while searching for equipment and used profanity in front of patients, which felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. On another occasion, I overheard staff laughing and referring to a patient by a nickname based on her weight, calling her “Big M.” This was really upsetting to hear, especially since that patient had shared in group sessions that she struggled with body image. Whether she heard it or not, comments like that have no place in a behavioral health setting where patients are trying to heal. Lastly, I found the discharge process to be slow and somewhat disorganized, which added stress at the end of an otherwise positive experience. Overall, I’m grateful for the compassion and care from most of the staff, but I hope the hospital takes steps to ensure greater professionalism and sensitivity among all employees.
