I have never dealt with a place like this before. Let me get into it. I made an appointment for an eye appointment cause usually I just go to Walmart or something for eye exam. I decided to go here to get a really good exam. I made the appointment and told them my insurance information. Scheduled a day off work and got a ride set up ( did not know if i needed a ride to eyes being dilated). A few days later I decided I better check with my insurance to be sure I was covered. Well I was informed I wasn't. I called Smith and Wooten on July 1st to cancel. When speaking to an office worker about canceling I was informed that my insurance was taken. I did say to the lady, "Are you sure cause my insurance company says I'm not covered" she said it was so I kept my appointment. Now I did have an appointment with my local optometrist, but I canceled upon hearing I was covered. Well my appointment was July 11th, they call july 8th at 3:51 to inform me that I was not covered. Are you serious, three days before my appointment you call to tell me this. I even called to cancel, told you that my insurance would not be taken and this place told me that it is covered. It might have been my fault, but I trusted these workers here at Smith and Wooten knew what they were talking about. It really frustrated me due to that I already canceled my other appointment, which usually takes a month to get in. So now I have to wait a month with my last pair of contacts to get back in. ( Now my other eye doctors office has worked with me thank god and is helping me out with contacts until my appointment a month off). Also I already took off work for this appointment. Luckily the person that was taken me wasn't put out also. I am just frustrated and angry. Now I'm just a common one blue collar worker and probably dont matter, but feel like I did the right things to be sure i had an appointment. It is my opinon that Smith and Wooten doesn't care and why should they cause there is more people waiting. We can all agree to disagree, but I little courteous customer service goes a long way and I feel they could have ran the insurance when I first questioned it to bevsure. Anyway I'm sure the doctor's are great, but some things need to be better I think.
