I joined 6 months ago and paid 200 dollar sign up fee. I enjoyed the facility up until winter hit. I was asked to leave the basketball courts on several occasions recently to make room for pickleball and daycare kids. Paying 80 per month is steep when you can’t use the facilities. I asked the membership team if I could put my membership on hold until spring. I was told I am too young to do this and it was only for seniors. So you are going to pay more and receive less benefits if you’re not old. I followed up with an email and was told to cancel my membership and if I ever want to come back I can pay the 200 dollar sign up fee again. Terrible customer service and policies.

Alright here it goes...this review is for the gym and weights portion only.
My family has held a membership at Dakotah since the doors opened in 1994. That seems to be the last time the majority of equipment was updated. If you've been to other facilities of this scale it is an embarrassment for the club. The staff there sits behind the desk on their phones all day, or workout on the clock while the weights are disorganized and all over! There are patrons there with little to no experience attempting very dangerous and improper "exercises" while staff stands by and watches. For experienced lifters there is almost NO equipment of any use. They have only 2 designated squat racks and ZERO platforms. There are NO bumper weights you can imagine this makes quite a noise and draws unwanted attention and complaints. Take a peak at savage lifetime, comparable size, they have approx 10 racks and platforms designated for these types of lifts/activities on the main floor. When I asked a staff member about this they said we don't like when "you guys" lift like that! Furthermore they said, "this is a family club" and these type of lifts are discouraged, but for a small fee ($30 a month EXTRA) we will put you in this closet behind the basketball court with 3 platforms to keep you away from everyone else.....They call this "studio 5". What on earth makes that not family friendly? Is lifetime not family friendly? As a 22 year member I had hoped my opinion would matter, but apparently that is not the case.
Lastly the basketball court: EVERY SINGLE rim is bent not all are 10ft and there is not a single usable basketball in the bin they provide...(I checked this morning)

Very well maintained and clean. Lots of updated equipment, tanning, ice rinks, running, basketball, etc. If you can't do it here, you probably can't do it anywhere.
