- KBKatie BrownDec 12, 20251.0GET A SECOND OPINION. I was told I had gingivitis, several cavities that need filled and a crown that would cost close to $1000. During this time I had state insurance, they had me come in every 3 months for a “deep clean” just to run my insurance up. I felt very pushed in a direction to permanently alter my teeth, a procedure I’ve now learned I don’t need. After a year with my new dentist, not only do I not have gingivitis, but the cavities that “need to be filled” are too small to do so and the tooth where I “needed a crown” is perfectly fine. If it is your only option, just let them do a basic teeth clean, nothing more. If you have other options, please use them.

The accommodations and considerations given for my severe anxiety have been exemplar. All of the staff: reception, hygienists/assistants, and dentist have gone above and beyond to help me feel comfortable even with more extensive dental work.
