I came into the ER hoping to get treatment for Lyme related symptoms. I have been bitten by ticks before and was wondering maybe I missed one. CDC is outdated and wrong, ticks have been shown to transmit diseases much faster than 24 hours. I was getting joint pains, muscle aches, weakness, clicking joints all over my body, nerve pains and tingles, brain fog, confusion, weakness, etc. I told the doctors this. These are all classic Lyme symptoms. Instead they tested me for COVID and other viruses which came back negative. The doctor said I didn't have Lyme because my neck wasn't stiff. Which is one of my symptoms now a few months later.
Instead I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia (classic), a pain shot, and a nearly $1k bill. I had to wait almost 5 hours.
Now I have chronic symptoms. I still have yet to find a Lyme literate doctor but my life has been hell. I have been taking herbs which have given me positive reactions so I definitely have Lyme or other coinfections.

Came in with severe backpain in search of some help and relief. I thought I might have a pinched nerve or slipped disk and it was difficult to stand up on my own. They didn't take x-rays, and didn't look at my back. They gave me a shot and a patch for pain relief and told me that these injuries usually heal on their own. I informed them that I wasn't physically able to get out of bed this morning and that trying to stand on my own caused terrible pain. I thought I would get relief going into an emergency room, but the things they prescribed did nothing to alleviate my pain. When I was in the ER, Brooke led me to believe that I was going home with enough medicine to get me through the weekend. When we got home I asked my partner if she had the meds and she said no, so I called and Brooke said that it was a miscommunication and that I had to get them from the pharmacy. I asked her to connect me with Dr. Gregory Lendzion, to inform him that I got no relief from what he prescribed and that I am in terrible pain. I need something stronger. She said he left and that I would have to come back to the ER and pay again for another visit and see a different Doctor. I cannot afford to come in again and I don't trust them to take proper care of me. Brooke said it's my fault for accepting the treatment they offered. I'm not a medical professional. I thought they would treat me properly, but they completely underestimated my injury and did not treat it properly. I advise you to go elsewhere, even if you are experiencing an emergency like I was. I would not trust this ER with my health and wish I never came here. What a disappointment.
After trying to get into the downtown Kalamazoo ER on a busy Saturday night, we came here and I was admitted right away. Dr. Dzwik was amazing and explained my condition very well. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and made me feel calmer during a stressful time and with a painful condition. I hope I won’t need to be back for any reason anytime soon but I would definitely return if need be.

This hospital has a not good rep and you should know that firstly. It isn't a good hospital, please read the reviews I beg you. You won't be safe here. Your well being, your needs, your pain, your discomfort? Know that it's gonna stew for 5 plus hours and thats not a business depending time frame, I mean that it is infact going to not be fixed for an additional 5 plus hours after getting a room. They have a history of malpractice, of misdiagnosis, of mistreatment of patient, and discharging patients that needed help. I don't know how they are still able to run.
