Dr. Payne actually cares about his patients, will talk to you about your whole life, what you do, what’s new etc. His employees also do a great job of knowing what is/is not covered by your insurance so you don’t need to spend hours on the phone with the insurance trying to figure it out for yourself.

My thin frames were a little wonky after 7 months of non stop use. This afternoon, I hopped into my car and walked into the office without an appointment. I was warmly greeted by name and my frames were fixed within a couple of minutes. The office worker answered a question I had and I was out the door! It is a pleasure to be a patron of this office.
My family has been with Dr. Payne for 20 years. He is aware of other medical issues I have had recently and is careful to review with me how my eyes age, given this new development in life. I highly recommend this doctor and his office staff!

I waited a while to write this, as I was told the manager was going to call me. They never did, so here is my experience.
I show up with my 2 minor children for all three of us to get an exam. We had always seen the female doctor (which I later found out is no longer there), and Dr Payne came in. I am typically a very laid back person who likes to chat, but the conversation with him quickly went downhill. From him talking about TV shows throwing midgets across stage, to telling me that if I go to therapy it's not working. Then, when I made a silly comment to my son, he turned around and said "you're so vain". I gasped, he turned to my son and said "did you know your mom is vain?". My blood instantly boiled. Needless to say, I ended the appointment and demanded they cancel my exam.
The poor receptionist was very apologetic as I explained what happened with tears rolling down my face. I sent my kids to the car, as they were upset as well. She asked me to please share my experience with the manager when she calls and I assured her I would. I then needed to call the office a week later to transfer info to a new doctor and she again said the manager would be calling. 2 months later and no call.
I would never go back there, and highly recommend finding a more professional place to go.
