If I could give him -0. I would. I’m changing my last positive review, only because he said he was releasing me as a patient if I didn’t change/remove it. (His front desk receptionist is wonderful; I can’t understand why she’s still there). I’ve been in a very low dose of a controlled substance for more years than I even know. Well, the pharmacy (as they often do) needed an “ok to fill” from Gupta. All he had to do was make ONE phone call to my pharmacy, and they could get an insurance override. He absolutely refused to do it. Under ANY circumstance. He said, and I quote “I didn’t get you into this”. He then hung up on me. So, he has left me in a terrible quandary; either find another way to get the medication or go through withdrawals. I’d really love to stop, but not the way he’s forced me to. (And, No tapering from him. Nothing.). Other past patients are SO correct when they’ve said he’s only out to line his pockets. I’ve paid a $21.00 co-pay every time I walked in the door, even though Medicare pays a big chunk,, along with Medicaid (office said I’m on a spend-down, yet a hip specialist said I wasn’t), yet the bill keeps getting higher! He’s NEVER spent more than 5 minutes (if that) with me, yet the bill says 15-20 minutes per session. He also charges $10.00 for any form he’s asked to fill out. I could go on and on, but this latest little “stunt” of “cold turkey” is extremely shocking and totally unbelievable that a so-called doctor would do this to a patient who has gone to him for years. What does “First Do No Harm” mean? Apparently, to him, nothing. He must already be in serious, serious trouble with the DEA to put a “past” patient through this horrible ordeal. I’m looking into EVERY organization I can (including the DEA, who he must be petrified of) to see if this is ethical treatment, and also checking/reporting to Medicare about his billing procedures to see if they, and I, have overpaid all these years. As I said before, if you need an aspirin or a bandaid, he’d be ok. Anything else, find someone else ASAP! I’ve learned the hard way.
One more thing, at one time, or more, my blood pressure was 217110. He said, and I QUOTE “Your blood pressure is a little high, so be careful”. What? What does THAT mean... don’t walk in front of a truck..., or whatever?
Whatever.
