Lower level staff are stuck up and rude. Doctors, MA's, Nurses, and any other educated staff were great, for the most part.
The way it went for me was taking a walk into an atrium with my IV cart. Non-infectious or contagious condition brought me (Crohn's), and it was recommended I take a walk at times to help with healing. As I was admiring a painting in a plant filled atrium near me ward, a janitorial staff woman with food was walking from the cafeteria and very rudely asked what I was doing and the like. I responded that I was all set and didn't need help which then prompted her to call security. Exactly how it went. She could have stated something about needing to stay in my unit or been a little more kind, but chose to be rude and prompt a manhunt for me in the hospital. I quietly made my way back to my room over the next few minutes not knowing what was going on and after I had been sitting on my bed for about 5 minutes had an army of security and nurses scolding me about not staying in my unit.
No signs, no locked doors, no restricted access of any kind. Just wanton entitled behavior demonstrating a lack of personal responsibility on the part of the institution and the staff. I spend too much money on this stuff to be treated like an animal who is supposed to obey commands by a bunch of lazy and entitled hospital workers. Wasn't doing anything wrong. I can follow doctors orders just fine. It is not my responsibility to make sure they are keeping an eye on me. DO. YOUR. JOB. OR. START. PAYING. ME. TO.
