I went there yesterday for an EMG and everyone was nice and friendly. They cared about me and made me comfortable for my test.

Consistently rude nurses, trying to just stay afloat thanks for making me want to drown myself. I never understand why rude people try to do this type of work. Yay for my mental health đź’€

I’m giving my over all experience with the neuroscience center a 1/5 rating. I want to preface this review that the nurse assistants I’ve had while working through these issues have been mostly helpful and at least they offered sympathy. I’ve been seeing Dr. yoder for about 10+ years. In my time seeing him, I found I was not heard or listened too, and that there was a push to keep trying medications, even when I explained that I do not feel any of the prescribed medications are helping me, and if there was any reasons why this is happening. On my previous change of medication, I started to experience partial seizures so severe that my quality of life has suffered extensively. I need to have someone with me at all times. I have anywhere from 3-6 episodes a day on average. On My last appointment with him, I expressed my concerns/shared video evidence and if there were any options. He suggested I “up” my medications’ dose yet again, and said he would refer me to a monitoring unit after I prompted a discussion for a referral to get more answers. He prescribed me medications for my severe migraines (due to my frequent episodes) and I found that the migraine medication he had prescribed did not interact safely with my current medication/dosage and I was experiencing symptoms that could have landed me in the hospital with internal brain bleeding. I contacted about a month and a half after the new dosage of seizure medication had started, expressing that I had noticed no change to my episodes, and that the migraine medication was causing me intense pain and I had to mention that the symptoms were severely similar to ones that the pamphlet urged going to the ER. He only said to discontinue and then prescribed me a different migraine medication that my insurance would not cover. After I had shared that the new dosage was doing no different than any of the 4 previous medications, he stated that *if* I believe I am still experiencing issues, he would have to refer me to a different neurologist. He randomly mentioned that he is busy and that he does not file any paperwork due to patients attempting to sue. He then closed out portal chat before I could respond to any of his newest messages, and any calls I tried to make were all left to voicemail. For 5 months I had called periodically to check on the status of referrals and if I had needed to schedule an appointment, and I only ever received one call back. The nurse apologized for the wait and said she would send in the referrals while on call with me, but still nothing was ever sent. (I had called both the monitoring unit and the neurologist he was referring me to check on the referral updates, both stated they had received nothing) Eventually the neurologist office I was referred to had to fax a form to Bronson neuroscience center and I finally after 5.5 months of back and forth was able to make an appointment. The point that I am trying to make with my long-winded story of this review is that I do not feel I was adequately cared for, my life has been on the line due to negligence in prescription management, and my needs were mostly dismissed as if it was something only I thought was abnormal. In my 10+ years of seeing Ryan Yoder, I have never once felt satisfied, safe, nor my epilepsy taken seriously.
