Visit the Planned Parenthood health center in Topsham, ME for emergency contraception (morning after pill), abortion, pregnancy testing, STD treatment, birth control, and sexual and reproductive health care.
I've been to Planned Parenthood for birth control twice (this location and a location in Kansas) and I have always been very satisfied with my care here. Today I visited PP in Topsham for a Nexplanon removal/Copper IUD insertion. All 3 people I interacted with (the receptionist, MA, and provider) were incredibly kind and passed zero judgement. They were incredibly thorough with going through the risks and benefits of an IUD. The provider especially was very affirming and made me feel very comfortable. They offered the option for lidocaine during the procedure which made it way more bearable than I thought it would be. The Nexplanon removal was difficult because the implant had bowed and there was scar tissue stuck to it, but the provider was persistent and got it out with no pain. I will only go to PP for birth control. They are the best of the best.

I will never go back to this facility. The 2 times ive gone ive left absolutely heartbroken and confused. The RN is just disrespectful and rude, im pregnant for the first time (around 7 weeks) I just wanted me first ultrasound to see whats going on... she gave me every reason to why I should get one and how "you are so early you wouldnt have even been referred, you only need to worry about that around 18 weeks" like oh um okay weird people have them done around 4-5 weeks but okay I guess... Now that I think back as well the other time I came to the topsham location was to have my IUD removed since it was causing me pain while sitting and it had been 5 years... this same rude woman basically told me she wouldnt remove it unless I went on birth control right away because "there's no need to get pregnant now you are so young and with your preexisting anxiety and depression you are very likely to have postpartum psychosis" (i removed it myself because of this) ....I had never had anyone speak like that i was mortified with how little empathy and respect she has for working at planned parenthood hood.. also I cant seem to find my last negative review....interesting

I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are for. As an uninsured person I am thankful for Planned Parenthood and their sliding scale based on income. I don’t qualify for Maine Care and my current employer does not offer health insurance. PP seemed like my best option and I was a little weary prior to my visit. I’m glad I came here, not only do I have some piece of mind in regards to my reproductive health, I paid a fair fee based on income, had my concern diagnosed and treated promptly and never once felt rushed or that I wasn’t being listened to. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Planned Parenthood IMHO is a great option for those without state aid or insurance.

They diagnosed my thyroid issues before it became a bigger issue and treated me with so much kindness and respect. I don’t use midcoast hospital gynecology. planned parenthood has a better patient and doctor relationships. Will also use planned parenthood or my women’s health.

I got their at my appointment time and I had to wait for 30 min to see the dr. Then after nurse asked me questions I then had to sit and wait for almost 30.min for the dr to come in and the like 10min after that for my pills. They where all nice and friendly but I didn't like waiting so long.
