I absolutely love this practice!! My son was having a foot issue and the doctor here had everything back to normal within a few weeks. Also, everyone is so kind and accommodating. You don’t have to jump through hoops to get a same-day appointment. I don’t write reviews often but my experience was so good, I wanted to let people know how great they are 😁

I got an appointment at the Urbana office to get treatment for a pain in my left foot, which did not subside after going through an oral prednisone pack. The appointment was with Dr. Neequaye. Before getting the appointment I was warned that the clinic will charge me 200 irrespective of the insurance I carry. I was later told that my deductible was 350$ and until I meet the deductible it's money out of my pocket. Fine! Let's get some treatment for my pain. I arrived at the clinic 10 minutes early for my appointment to fill up form. A little later I was ushered into one of the room by one of the assistants, and she took my history, all the while noting things down on a yellow sheet of paper which had codes for billing just about any ache and pain related to the foot. Left foot pain, achilles pain etc. I then got X-rays of my foot taken, and after almost an hour Dr. Neequaye walked in. In under 5 minutes, he did an ultrasound around the left toe, gave me a 8mg steriod shot on the aching joint, prescribed a bunch of things I should wear while walking, and while sleeping, and mentioned some exercises in passing. An hour later, I ponied up 346$. I had to ask for my exercise instructions. There was no attempt to demonstrate the exercise. The cashier said, I have met my deductible and, I went home thinking, well as long as it fixes my issue, fine! A week later I was still hobbling around in pain. So I got another appointment with Dr. Neequaye. I was charged 35$ for the visit as copay - I met the deductible after all. This time, I was ushered in to the room by an assistant and she "coded" my history on the yellow sheet and asked me if I wanted to add anything about the heel pain or not? I realized how their billing system worked and said, let's just focus on the primary issue - pain in the left foot. After an hour of sitting in the room, Dr. Neequaye didn't show up. So I left disappointed and disgruntled, and asked the clinic to refund my copay. Couple of hours later I got a call from the Clinic, from one of the Assistants (Not from Dr. Neequaye though) apologizing for the incident. Apparently Dr. Neequaye was attending to a podiatric emergency! Note that if you call the clinic, the first thing you hear is do not call them if it is an emergency! It's been 2 weeks since this happened. I got treatment from another podiatrist in Germantown and I am fine now. I waited this long because I didn't want to write an unfavorable review of a person or an establishment without sufficient consideration. My issue with this clinic/shop is that it's not a place for healing, it's for billing. Frederick foot and ankle is a well run business, but not a place for healing. Dr. Neequaye is a trained physician, but he didn't act like one. I cannot trust a doctor who does not respect the fact that a human being has come to him the second time seeking treatment and he didn't have the courtesy to peek in and say he was running a bit late. Historically, places like this, will do well for a while, but over time, people will see it for what it is worth. It took me two visits and some pain to learn this. I am writing this review in the hope that it will take you, the next patient, less. Cheers.
